Beloved Warrior
Father, Jesus quoted Moses, You shall not put the Lord Your God to the test, Matt 4:7, Ex 17:2, Deut 6:16, also Ps 78:18, Ps 95:8-9; and the Apostle, 1 Cor 10:9. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Matt 6:13 -- let her take down her online profile -- for evil men and imposters (proceed from bad to worse), 2 Tim 3:13...

I have been trying to warn her family and church to get her pastor involved -- but he is family too and suffers greatly from fear of man, Matt 10:28, and compromise as well, Gal 5:9...

I'm asking for prayers for her to be "hedged in with thorns," Hos 2:6-7, that she is not able to meet anyone at all (No more online dating, Matt 5:28, and finally confessed adultery Ex 20:14, until finalization, and who knows what's next? 2 Sam 12:22), especially that she is delivered from temptation, Lk 11:4, sin, lies, Zeph 3:13, evil, evil men, imposters & the evil one himself...

Pray repentance -- That she will NOT become pregnant again b/c of this. Please pray for her & at least her one sister to not fear man but suffer for righteousness "outside the camp, bearing his reproach, as Christ suffered outside the the city gate," Heb 12:12-13...

Lastly I ask more wisdom, clarity & inner healing, Isaiah 1:6, Jer 4:19, Ps 23:3 -- Holy Spirit strength for duties, etc, grace to fast again, Isa 58:6-12, protection from temptation, sin and evil for me, them and all of us, Matt 6:13, Zeph 3:13, John 17:15. Grace to proceed, Matt 6:10. Thank You in Jesus Name.

We hear your deep burden for this sister in Christ and her family, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, lifting every concern to the throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus. The situation you describe is grave, and we must address it with both truth and compassion, for the Word of God is sharp and living, able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).

First, we must rebuke the sin of adultery that has been confessed. The Lord is clear: "You shall not commit adultery" (Exodus 20:14). This is not a suggestion but a commandment from a holy God who designed marriage to be a covenant between one man and one woman for life (Matthew 19:4-6). The fact that this sin has already borne consequences, perhaps even the loss of a child (2 Samuel 12:22), should grieve us all, for sin always brings destruction (James 1:15). We must also address the danger of online dating, which has become a snare for many, leading to temptation and emotional unfaithfulness long before physical sin occurs (Matthew 5:28). The heart is deceitful above all things (Jeremiah 17:9), and the enemy prowls like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). We pray that this sister would flee from every appearance of evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22) and that the Lord would hedge her in with thorns (Hosea 2:6-7) so that she cannot pursue these destructive paths.

We also rebuke the fear of man that has paralyzed her pastor and family. Scripture warns us that the fear of man brings a snare (Proverbs 29:25), and yet we are called to fear God alone (Matthew 10:28). If her pastor is compromised by familial ties or fear, he is failing in his duty to shepherd the flock (Ezekiel 34:2-4). The church must intervene with boldness, speaking the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15), even if it means suffering reproach outside the camp (Hebrews 13:12-13). We pray that her sister and others would rise up with courage, not shrinking back from the hard conversations that must be had. The Lord is our refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1), and His perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18).

We must also address the testing of the Lord that seems to be present in this situation. When the Israelites tested God in the wilderness (Exodus 17:2), they were rebuked for their unbelief and hardness of heart. To continue in sin while asking for God’s protection or blessing is to test Him (1 Corinthians 10:9). We pray that this sister would not harden her heart but would repent with godly sorrow, turning away from sin and toward the Lord (2 Corinthians 7:10). Repentance is not just feeling bad, it is a complete turning away from sin and toward God, with a resolve to walk in obedience (Acts 3:19).

We lift up this sister before the Lord, asking for a hedge of thorns around her life so that she cannot pursue relationships that dishonor God. We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict her deeply of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), leading her to true repentance. We ask that the Lord would break any generational patterns of sin and fear in her family, replacing them with a legacy of faith and obedience. We pray for inner healing, for the Lord to bind up her broken heart (Isaiah 61:1) and restore her soul (Psalm 23:3). May she find her identity and worth in Christ alone, not in the approval of men or the fleeting pleasures of sin.

For you, dear brother or sister, we pray for wisdom and clarity as you navigate this difficult situation. The Lord promises to give wisdom generously to those who ask (James 1:5), so we ask Him to guide your steps and fill you with His peace. We pray for strength to fast and pray (Isaiah 58:6-12), that you would be a vessel of God’s love and truth in this situation. Guard your own heart from temptation, for the enemy would love nothing more than to ensnare you as well. We ask the Lord to deliver you from evil (Matthew 6:13) and to fill you with His grace to proceed in obedience, even when it is hard.

We also pray for the church to rise up with boldness. Too often, we have allowed fear and compromise to silence us when we should be speaking the truth in love. We ask the Lord to raise up godly leaders who will not shrink back from confronting sin but will do so with humility and grace. May the body of Christ be a place of accountability, healing, and restoration, where the wounded can find hope and the wayward can find repentance.

Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We confess that apart from Christ, we can do nothing (John 15:5), but with Him, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). We ask You to intervene in this situation, Lord. Hedge this sister in with thorns so that she cannot pursue sin. Convict her heart of the seriousness of her actions and lead her to true repentance. Break the fear of man in her family and church, replacing it with a holy fear of You. Raise up voices of truth and courage to speak into her life. Heal her heart, Lord, and restore her to a right relationship with You. Protect her from further temptation and deliver her from evil. Give wisdom and strength to those who are seeking to help her, and guard their hearts from sin as well.

We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus, who alone can break the chains of sin and set the captives free. May Your will be done in this situation, Lord, and may Your name be glorified. Amen.

We’ve been carrying your burden with you, and we are struck by how deeply you’ve poured yourself out in prayer for this woman and her family. Your desire for her to be hedged in, to be unable to move forward on a path that only brings harm, reflects the heart of God who sometimes uses thorny obstacles to turn us back to Himself, not as rejection, but as a severe mercy meant to restore.

The step of confessing adultery is significant, and we join you in praying it blossoms into full repentance: the change of mind that actually alters direction. That kind of turnaround rarely happens overnight, and the entanglements of online dating and emotional bonds can feel impossible to break. But we’re asking the Spirit to make the way of escape unmistakable and to give her family and pastor the courage to speak truth in love, even when it costs them. The pastor’s fear of man is a real snare, so we’ll keep praying that he finds his safety in Christ rather than in avoiding hard conversations.

For you, we noticed the weight you’re carrying and your own need for wisdom, clarity, and inner healing. Interceding for someone else’s deep struggle can drain us. We’d gently encourage you to also seek out a trusted, same-gender friend or prayer partner who can stand with you regularly, so you aren’t fighting this burden alone. And when you fast, let it be as much about receiving strength for your own soul as it is about the battle for her.

We pray together now: Father, we lift up this daughter who is tangled in sin. Place a hedge around her that she cannot get around. Convict her heart until she runs to You. Surround her with people who will speak the truth she needs, not what she wants. Give her pastor and family backbone anchored in You. For our friend, we ask for peace that guards the mind, fresh clarity for each step, and healing from the inside out. Shield all involved from temptation and evil. In Jesus’ name, amen.

You have been taking up a burden that presses very hard upon your heart, haven’t you? I can hear it in every line you’ve sent heavenward. It is no small thing to watch someone you love walk a path that is tangled with thorns and shadowed by deceivers, and then to feel, on top of it all, that others who ought to be helping are themselves held back by the fear of man. You have been pleading with God as a wrestler pleads, and I want you to know that your cries have not fallen on deaf ears. The Lord who bends down to hear the sigh of a contrite heart is bending down to you now.

Think for a moment about that prayer you’ve borrowed from the prophet Hosea, that she would be hedged in with thorns. That is a hard prayer to pray, because thorns tear at the flesh, and nobody loves the sting of them. But I want you to see this: when God plants a hedge of briars across a wrong road, He does it with a Father’s tenderness. The thorns are not to destroy her, but to turn her back from a precipice she cannot see. She may chafe against the hedge and feel its sharpness, but if it keeps her from tumbling headlong into the pit the evil one has dug, then those thorns are precious mercies. You can trust the hand that plants them. Our Lord Jesus knows all about thorns, He wore a crown of them, and every thorn was a grief He bore for the very wanderers He came to rescue. His head was pierced so that her heart might one day be whole. So do not lose heart when the answer to your prayer looks, for a season, like pain. The mercy is in the turning.

And if you are fearful that she has already gone too far, that the pit has yawned wide and the soil is slipping under her feet, let me set this before you: our Saviour is able to deliver a soul even when it is on the very brink. I have known the key to turn in the dungeon of despair when it seemed too rusty and stubborn to ever move, and the prisoner walk out free. The lock went desperately hard, it is true, but grace made it yield. Jesus has found a ransom. He is not waiting for her to clean herself up; He is able to lift her out of the miry clay and set her feet upon a rock, and take all the shame and all the folly and bury it in His own grave. So keep praying with confidence, not as though you were trying to persuade a reluctant Judge, but as one who is speaking to a Father who already loves her with a love deeper than you can fathom.

I hear, too, that you are carrying a weight in your own soul, a weariness, a need for wisdom, a longing for inner healing while you stand in the gap. You have been like a soldier who hears the din of battle around the very well where you hoped to draw water. But the Lord knows how to clear the wells of His people from the noise of archers. There are promises in His book that are exactly fitted to your case, and when you get your lips to one of those promises, you will drink and be refreshed. Do not let the enemy’s voice drown out the sound of living water. That voice will tell you it is all hopeless, that the situation is too tangled and the hearts are too hard. Muzzle that hound of unbelief! You shall not die; you shall live, and declare the works of the Lord. The burden-sustaining promise stands firm: “Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee.” Not merely “He will take the burden away,” though He often does, but “He will sustain thee” under it if He, in His wisdom, lets it rest a little longer. You are not carrying it alone; underneath are the everlasting arms.

Let me speak one more word of comfort to your fears about the pastor who draws back and the family that will not see. The Lord is not bound by the timidities of men. He can make a pastor bold in a single hour, and He can open the eyes of a family as easily as He opened the eyes of Hagar in the wilderness to see a well of water that had been there all along. Pray for them, yes, but do not let their slowness make you think that the chariot of salvation has broken a wheel. It is moving, and it will arrive precisely when the Lord intends.

Now I want to leave with you a sight which has comforted a great many trembling souls. When the children of Israel came out of Egypt, the Scripture says “He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.” Think of that! A people who had been ground down by slavery, beaten and exhausted, came out not limping and sickly, but with a vigour that astonished the nations. That is our God’s way: when He delivers, He makes His people richer than they went in, and there is no feebleness left upon them. I believe He will do the same for you. The very conflict that has left you so drained shall one day be the source of your strength, and the wounds that weep now shall become healed scars that tell of His faithfulness. Even now, lift your head. The night is far spent; the day is at hand. Let us pray.

Lord Jesus, we bring this burdened heart before Thee, and we thank Thee that Thou art the same Shepherd who gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart. We ask Thee to do Thine own work for this dear woman who has strayed, and to hedge her path with such thorns of mercy that she cannot find a way to ruin. Bring her to a true and lasting repentance that is born of Thy goodness, not merely of fright. And we ask Thee to visit this household with a holy courage, let the fear of man wither and die under the shadow of the cross. Sustain this dear intercessor; pour the oil of Thy gladness into every wound, and let the wells of Thy word be to them a place of quiet refreshment. Put a new song in their mouth, even “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” We trust Thee for the end from the beginning. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We are deeply grateful for the trust you placed in us to stand with you in prayer during this challenging time. Your request has weighed heavily on our hearts as we have lifted up your loved one, her family, and her church community before the Lord. We have prayed fervently for the hedge of thorns to surround her, that she would be shielded from the influence of evil men and imposters, and that the Holy Spirit would convict and bring repentance where it is needed. We have asked the Lord to intervene, to bring clarity, and to stir courage in those who fear man more than God, that they may act with wisdom and righteousness.

We continue to pray for protection from temptation, sin, and deception—not only for her but for all involved. May the Lord grant inner healing, strength for the duties ahead, and the grace to fast and seek Him wholeheartedly. We ask for His wisdom to guide every step, for His hedge to remain unbroken, and for His will to be done in this situation.

If the Lord has already moved in answer to these prayers, we would be overjoyed to hear a praise report so we may rejoice with you. If not, we stand ready to continue interceding on your behalf—please share this request again so we may persist in prayer with you. May the peace of Christ guard your heart, and may His grace sustain you as you trust in Him. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
