Justice

We hear the weight you are carrying and we join with you in seeking God's help and peace in this difficult situation with your tenants, and we bring your anxiety before the Lord together in Jesus' name.

We understand how unsettling it is when your home or property, which God has entrusted to you to steward, becomes a source of stress and conflict, and when you must wait for a legal hearing for resolution. God sees your distress and He cares deeply about justice and about your peace. We are reminded in Psalm 55:22 Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved. And in 1 Peter 5:7 casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. The Lord does not want you to remain a nervous wreck, but to experience His peace even while you wait for justice.

Scripture tells us in Philippians 4:6-7 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We also remember that God loves justice, as Psalm 37:28 says For Yahweh loves justice, and does not forsake his saints. He has also established governing authorities to uphold what is right, as in Romans 13:1-2, and we are called to honor that process and act with integrity, patience, and honesty, even when we feel wronged. We encourage you not to take matters into your own hands in a way that would be harsh or outside the law, but to trust the Lord to work through lawful means, to keep careful records, to seek wise counsel, and to act with grace even toward those who have caused you trouble, as Romans 12:19 reminds us Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and find true peace and salvation. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 tells us There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name not only for this need but for eternal life. It is in His name that we pray with confidence.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one who is anxious and weary over this tenant situation. Lord, You know the details of what has happened, You see any injustice, and You know the burden of worry that has made our friend feel overwhelmed. We ask that You would pour out Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We ask for Your justice to be done in a way that honors You, and if it is Your will, we ask that these tenants would move out peaceably before the hearing, without further conflict or damage, and that You would provide for them another place to go. We pray for the hearing itself, that it would be fair and timely and that truth would prevail. We pray for our friend to be sustained with strength, wisdom, and calm, and to act in a way that reflects Your character with honesty and grace. Help us to trust You as our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble as Psalm 46:1 says. We place this entire matter in Your hands and ask for Your will to be done. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to cast your cares on Him daily, to spend time in prayer and in the Word, to get godly counsel for the legal process, and to rest in the knowledge that God is both just and merciful and He will not forsake you. We are standing with you for peace in your heart and a just and peaceful resolution to this matter.

We appreciate you sharing this with us. Waiting for a hearing while living with tension at home is exhausting, and it makes sense you are feeling like a nervous wreck. We are holding you in prayer as you walk through this.

It can help to have one steady point of support while you wait. If you have not already, consider having a trusted legal aid, attorney, or local housing advisor review your paperwork before the hearing so you know what to expect and what to bring. Having that clarity often eases some of the spinning thoughts, and having someone with you can make the day itself feel less isolating. Alongside that, be gentle with yourself in these days, getting rest when you can and leaning on a pastor or trusted friend to talk through the worry.

We are asking God to meet you in this.

Father, we lift this situation to You. You see the strain and the need for a fair and peaceful resolution. Grant wisdom for each next decision, calm in the midst of anxiety, and Your provision for both the home and the hearing ahead. Give rest tonight and steady hope for the days to come. In Jesus name, amen.

Your request for prayer concerning these tenants and the coming hearing has been heard, and we join with you in bringing it before the Lord who is the true Landlord of all.

You speak of being a nervous wreck, and that heaviness is understood. Anxiety itself unfits us to meet the difficulty that causes it, and the mind is the main thing which will bring daylight or midnight, peace or war. The promise given to us is, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. That perfect peace is not found in the absence of trouble or in the settling of every outward circumstance, but in being kept by Him even while sorrows surge around.

We remember that we ourselves are tenants in the house of this life, and God is the Landlord who has at all times the right to enter and to order His own property. The rent He asks is not silver or gold, but that we bless the Lord at all times and let His praise be continually in our mouth, living in trust and thanksgiving even in the waiting. When we offer the key of our house to Him and acknowledge that we live on sufferance as His tenants, we find rest.

So we pray for you now, that the God of peace who is also the God of justice would be your keeper. We ask that He would grant you that peace which passes all understanding, peace through the blood of Jesus which has made full atonement and which whispers peace within. We ask that He would still your anxious thoughts, guard your heart and mind, and enable you to do the will of Jesus in this matter, for to do His will is rest.

We pray concerning the tenants and the hearing, that the Lord would work what is just and right. May He grant wisdom to all who have authority in this hearing, may He restrain what is wrong, and may He provide a just and peaceable outcome according to His will. If it be His will that they move before the hearing, we ask for that provision. Above all we ask that His name be honored in how this is resolved, and that you may be sustained with calmness and clarity in the days ahead.

We pray that you will be enabled to go in peace to your daily duties and to this hearing, not in your own strength but kept by Him who is unmoved while we are troubled. May you know renewed peace as you look to Jesus, the Prince of Peace, and trust Him to do what is right.

We will continue to remember you before the throne of grace, asking that faith may bring its filling and well founded peace to your soul as you believe on Him.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
