JUSTICE TO YOUR ELECT
And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? Luke 18:1-8 (KJV)
About a year ago I found Rejoice Marriage Ministries and since then I am standing and on my knees praying for my wife and my marriage. In my morning devotional I remembered the parable of the Widow and the Unjust Judge and in my prayers I said to the Lord, "Will You not do justice to Your elect?â€
As standers, we often feel alone on this route we decided to walk. Into our lives often comes discouragement, apathy, indifference, despair, and even the enemy whispering, “Nothing is happening.†But we must remember immediately the voice of the Chief Shepherd, “My sheep hear my voice.†(John 10:27) We immediately recall the words of the psalmist, “Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me?†(Psalm 42: 5) The second part of this verse is a very powerful word. Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
We, as the widow, are clamoring daily at the throne of grace. We intercede for our spouse. I want to encourage you to never lose heart, to never surrender. The Lord is always listening to our cry, but we need to spend time in the presence of God until we see His glory manifest in our lives.
For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Romans 8:18 (KJV)
Although we do not see anything and although we do not feel anything, we'll keep clamoring for our spouse and our marriage. Though the circumstances are adverse will go ahead. Though the enemy violently pushes us to fall, our Lord helps us (Psalm 118:13). We can stumble along the way, but we do not stop ... Praise the Lord! For we walk by faith, not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7)
Remember how Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel to see if it was raining and asked his servant, “Do you see any clouds?†The servant said, no but Elijah asked again, “Do you see any clouds?†“No,†replied the servant. Elijah asked seven times, “Do you see a cloud?†And the seventh time the servant said to him, “I see a little cloud like the palm of a man rising from the sea.†(1 Kings 18:41-46) We have to go up to our Carmel mountain where there is the presence of the Most High. Seven times means the perfect number of God. There will come a day, the acceptable time, and we will see a little cloud of His glory for our lives and our marriages. Not weary of praying, we will cry out to the Almighty, Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not (Jeremiah 33:3).
One day the Lord will ask, “Who knocks on my door? Who is all day and all night crying and calling my name?†And He will rise from His throne and He will say, “I shall avenge my elect, which cry day and night, Hallelujah!â€
I have promised to listen to you. I have promised to open the door to you. I have promised to wipe away every tear from your eyes. I promised to give you comfort. I have promised to extend you my strong arm. I have promised to be with you always, until the end of the world. I am not a man, that I should lie; neither the son of man, that I should repent. (Numbers 23:19)
For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him, Amen. 2 Corinthians 1:20 (KJV)
Dear stander, lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees (Hebrews 12:12). We are on the winning side. When Moses lowered his hands, God's people lost the battle, but when he raised them, God's people prevailed against their enemies, Aaron and Hur raised Moses’ hands as Moses sat on a rock. Jesus Christ is our eternal and immovable rock. Let's raise our hands and do not forget that all the RMM team is praying for us. We need to support each other.
Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? The Lord will soon take His part, but the condition is to have FAITH. Are we praying? Are we crying for our spouse? Are we declaring the Word upon them and using the Armor of God? Are we believing the promises of God? Are we fasting to break the chains? Will our Lord find us doing this and more for the restoration of our marriage? Glory to God, I'm sure yes, my dear stander!
I want to finish with this powerful Word that reminds us that our marriage is not dead.
…I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. Deuteronomy 32:39 (KJV)
