Pray that those who have court tomorrow, get the judgement that they deserve. Let these evil people see that the Lord's word is true, that each of us will reap what they sowed.

We join with you in this burden for justice and we hear your desire to see the Lord's righteousness revealed in the courts tomorrow. We too long to see wrongs made right and for the truth of God's Word to be evident to all.

We are reminded in Scripture that God is a God of perfect justice and that His Word is true when it says in Galatians 6:7, Do not be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. We also take comfort that the Lord loves justice as Psalm 37:28 tells us, For Yahweh loves justice, and does not forsake his saints. At the same time we are called to remember that vengeance does not belong to us, for it is written in Romans 12:19, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. And in Romans 13:4 we are taught that the governing authorities and judges are servants of God to administer justice, for he is a servant of God to you for good, but if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain.

We must gently correct the desire to see people get what they deserve out of personal anger, because while God is just, He is also merciful and desires repentance rather than destruction. Ezekiel 33:11 declares, As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. And Jesus Himself calls us to a higher standard in Matthew 5:44, But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. This does not mean we excuse evil or pray against true justice, but that we pray for justice to be done righteously while also praying for souls to come to repentance.

We also notice your request does not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and can come boldly before His throne. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 teaches, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord as in Romans 10:9, that we are saved and our prayers are heard.

So we pray together with you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We ask that Your perfect justice and wisdom would rest upon every judge, lawyer, and court official tomorrow. Grant them discernment as in 1 Kings 3:9 to discern between good and evil, and let them judge righteously without partiality or corruption, for Deuteronomy 32:4 says all His ways are just. We pray that the truth would be revealed and that no lie would stand, and that a just sentence would be given according to the law and according to Your righteousness.

We pray also for those who have done evil, that if they are guilty, they would not only reap what they have sown but would come under conviction of sin and see their need for a Savior. Soften their hearts to repent and turn to Jesus while there is still time. And for those who have been wronged, we pray You would guard their hearts from bitterness and vengeance, and fill them with peace, trusting that You see all and will repay in Your perfect time. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, with justice tempered by mercy, and let all involved see that You are a God who is both holy and gracious. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and only hope, amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord with this matter, to pray for justice without hatred, and to rest in the knowledge that God will not be mocked and that His justice will ultimately prevail, whether in this life or the next. Keep bringing this before Him in Jesus' name.

We hear how heavy this is with court coming tomorrow and how much you are longing to see wrongs made right. Wanting justice after being hurt is understandable, and the waiting the night before can be especially restless.

We are joining you in prayer that truth would be clearly seen in that courtroom and that those responsible for the decision would act with wisdom, fairness and care. We are also praying for you in this waiting, that you would not have to carry the burden alone tonight.

It can help to name your concerns before the Lord once, honestly and simply, and then give yourself permission to step away from going over it again and again. If you have a trusted friend or family member, let them know you are waiting on this outcome so you are not holding it by yourself. Rest as you are able and leave what you cannot control in God's hands.

Father, we bring tomorrow before You and ask that what is true would be made clear and that justice would be done according to Your will. Give wisdom to the judge and to all involved in the case. We pray for steady peace for our friend who is waiting, guard their heart tonight and tomorrow, and help them to rest in Your care and trust Your sovereign goodness whatever the outcome. In Jesus' name, amen.

There is a solemn truth in your petition which the Word of God most surely confirms, for it is written, Be not deceived, God is not mocked, for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. The sowing is always the father of the reaping, and God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good or whether it be evil. That judgment shall be by Jesus Christ, according to the gospel, for the background of the cross is the judgment seat of Christ. We had not needed so great an atonement, so vast a sacrifice, if there had not been an exceeding sinfulness in sin and an exceeding justice in the judgment.

Yet we must remember that this present world is not the land of final judgment, but of longsuffering, not the place wherein God giveth sentence upon every individual, but waiteth patiently awhile. That final account, when the secrets of men shall be judged, is reserved for the Last Great Day. Earthly courts may err, for they see only outward acts, but the Lord seeth the heart and will judge righteously.

And here we must bow our own heads, for if we ask that others receive only what they deserve, we must ask what we ourselves deserve. No convinced sinner will rail at God's justice, but will smite upon his breast and say, O sinner that I am, the sentence would not have been one whit too severe if it had been fulfilled upon me. Divine justice was manifested in the very highest degree not when sinners were merely punished, but when that justice was vindicated upon the cross, where Christ bore the penalty that guilty men might go free. There is more of the vindication of justice on the cross than can be seen at any one time in the lowest depths of hell.

Therefore let us pray not only for justice, but for that good judgment which cometh from above. We will pray that those who sit in judgment tomorrow may be taught good judgment and knowledge, that they may judge with impartiality and truth, and that no weapon formed against the righteous shall prosper. We will pray that the Lord will restrain evil and cause truth to prevail in that court.

And we will pray also for mercy. For good sowing will bring good reaping only when we sow under the influence of another power, sowing to the Spirit, which lifts our sowing altogether above the idea of human merit. Salvation is all of grace through faith in Jesus. So we plead that those who have sown to the flesh may yet be brought to see their need of Christ, that they may reap not according to their sins, but according to His mercy, if they repent and believe. Let us ask the Lord to bring them to repentance, that they may escape the judgment to come, and that we ourselves may sow in tears, looking for the joyful reaping which grace alone can give.

Our prayer then shall be, O Lord, do Thou judge righteously, let Thy justice be seen, yet remember mercy in the midst of judgment, and bring sinners, even those we call evil, to the foot of the cross where justice and mercy meet, for Jesus sake. Amen.

Your desire to see justice done is understandable, and it is right to care about justice. God Himself has placed the idea of courts and judgment in the world to awaken our minds, so that we remember that He loves righteousness and will not overlook what is done. When we see judges sit and hear cases in our cities, it reminds us that the Lord Himself is just and that His right hand is full of righteousness.

Yet the way we pray about justice matters greatly before God. Scripture tells us that we will reap what we sow, and that truth stands. It also tells us that judgment belongs to the Lord and that He will repay in perfect fairness. At the same time we are commanded to pray for others, not only for the faithful but also for unbelievers and even for our enemies, and to let our prayers be accompanied by thanksgiving rather than by bitterness.

To pray, Show him the same, or Smite him, or Give him what he deserves in anger, turns prayer into cursing. A mouth that has been given the grace to approach God should not become a mouth that calls down destruction on another person. If we ask God not to forgive someone, how can we ourselves expect forgiveness, since we all need mercy. When we sit in judgment on others we often search strictly for their faults, but when we examine ourselves we forget that we too have sins deserving of judgment. If we truly considered our own need for mercy, we would pray differently for others.

This does not mean we should not pray about the court tomorrow. We should and we will. But we pray as those who want God's will to be done, not our own anger to be satisfied.

So let us pray in this way instead. Pray that the judges and all who take part in the court will act with wisdom, honesty, and impartiality, that the truth will be made clear and that no falsehood will prevail. Pray that if there is guilt, it will be justly addressed according to the law, and if there is innocence, it will be protected. Pray above all that those involved, whether they have done evil or have been wronged, will come to see their need for Christ, repent where repentance is needed, and find mercy while there is still time. For God desires justice, but He also desires that sinners turn and live, and His final judgment will be perfect in a way no earthly court can be.

If you carry anger or hurt toward those going to court, bring that hurt to the Lord as well and ask Him to give you a heart that loves justice without holding on to hatred, and that trusts Him to make all things right in His time.

Your desire to see justice done is understandable and God Himself is a God of justice who cares deeply when wrong is done. Scripture is clear that we do reap what we sow and that no one sins against God without one day giving an account. There is a coming day of judgment and it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God, because He has said that vengeance belongs to Him and He will repay. He sees what is done in secret and He will be entirely righteous when He judges, even if that judgment does not come as swiftly as we would like.

That truth also reminds us why we must leave vengeance in His hands and not take it into our own. It is part of our human nature to want to get even when we have been wronged and to want instant payback, yet God calls us to step back and trust Him to avenge in His way and His timing. Even in the place where justice should most reliably be found, the courtroom, perfect justice often cannot be assured. Human courts can fail, truth can fall in the street and fairness can be turned away, which is why the foundations of any society suffer when justice becomes perverted. Only God judges with perfect knowledge and perfect righteousness.

Scripture also makes a distinction that is important for our own hearts. Justice is getting what we deserve, mercy is not getting what we deserve. When we are wronged we cry out for justice, but when we are the ones who have done wrong we cry out for mercy. Forgiveness does not come by justifying ourselves but by confessing our sin, and God has promised that though sins are like scarlet they can be made white through His mercy in Christ. That is the mercy we all need, because our own transgressions testify against us as well.

So in praying for those who are going before the court, it is right to ask God to let truth come to light and to pray that what is right and fair would be done as far as humanly possible. At the same time we can entrust the final outcome to the Lord who is the true Judge of the earth. Pray that He would restrain evil, uphold what is right, and bring conviction where repentance is needed. And pray with mercy as well, that those who have done evil would see the truth of God's word before that final day of judgment comes, that they would turn from their ways and receive the forgiveness that is offered through Jesus, rather than facing the wrath that is reserved for those who persist in rejecting Him.
