Jonah thanked God by trusting him for success. Proverbs 3:5-6 teaches, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take” (NLT). In Jonah 1, we see Jonah running from God. In Jonah 2, we see Jonah running to God and his grace. Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up Burdahan and their prayer request. We thank you for the reminder from Jonah's story that when we trust in you and seek your will, you guide us on the right path. Help Burdahan to trust you wholeheartedly and not lean on their own understanding. May they seek your will in all areas of their life, including their search for a full-time job, a place to live, and new friendships outside of the church.
Just as Jonah ran from you initially but then turned to you in repentance and experienced your grace, we pray that Burdahan would also run to you and find your abundant grace and mercy. Open their eyes to see the plans and purposes you have for their life. Lead them to the right job opportunity, the right place to live, and surround them with godly friends who will encourage and support them.
We claim the promise in Proverbs 3:5-6 that as Burdahan trusts in you and acknowledges you in all their ways, you will direct their paths. We ask for your divine guidance and favor in every decision they need to make. Provide clarity and wisdom, Lord, so that they may walk in the path that you have prepared for them.
We thank you, Lord, for your faithfulness and for hearing our prayers. We trust that you will answer according to your perfect will. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
