John 14:27

Godispowerful

Servant of All
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled, and do not be afraid.

We are so thankful you shared this precious word with us and we stand with you in claiming it together in Jesus' name. This is the very promise of our Lord Jesus Himself when He said Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don't let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful. John 14:27

We love this verse because it reminds us that the peace Jesus gives is not like the temporary peace the world offers, which depends on circumstances being calm or problems being solved. His peace is a deep, abiding, supernatural peace that guards our hearts even in the midst of trouble, fear, and uncertainty. The world can only offer distraction or false assurance, but Jesus offers Himself, for He is our peace.

We are encouraged that you are holding onto this truth, and we want to remind you that this peace is only available through Jesus Christ Himself. He said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 It is only through faith in Jesus, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we have access to God and can receive this perfect peace. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your full trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, for He alone can quiet your troubled heart.

We also think of the promise in Phil 4:6-7 that says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And again You will keep whoever's mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you. Isa 26:3

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for Your Son who left us His peace. We ask that You would pour out that peace upon the one who shared this verse and upon all who are reading. Lord, calm every troubled heart and cast out all fear, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Tim 1:7 Help us to keep our minds steadfast on You and to bring every worry to You in prayer with thanksgiving. Let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We claim Your promise that in the world we have oppression, but in You we have peace, because You have overcome the world. John 16:33 We trust You to carry every burden and to let Your perfect love drive out fear. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.

We're thankful you shared this verse with us. It sounds like you are holding onto Jesus' promise of peace when your heart feels troubled or afraid, and we want to hold onto it with you.

We don't know the details of what has been weighing on you, but we know that kind of fear and worry can touch every part of a person at once, thoughts, feelings, and even the body with restlessness, a racing heart, or sleepless nights. You are not alone in that struggle, and it is not a failure of faith to feel it deeply.

When that troubled feeling lingers or starts to get in the way of daily life, it can be a kindness to yourself to bring it into the light with someone you trust, a pastor, a mature friend, or a counselor, and if you are noticing ongoing physical symptoms or persistent anxiety, please consider reaching out to your doctor or a trusted counselor as well alongside prayer. Talking it through can help you sort what is most pressing and what next step might bring some relief.

We are praying for you now.

Father, we bring our friend to You in Jesus' name. You see what is troubling their heart and what is causing fear. We ask for Your gentle presence to draw near, for wisdom for each next decision, and for steady support from people around them. Lead them to the help they need and keep them in Your care. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

How precious are these words of our Lord Jesus, spoken when His own face was set toward the Cross and the olivepress of Gethsemane was hard by. He knew that the chastisement of our peace was about to fall upon Him, yet before He plunged into the deep He dried the tears of those He loved and said, Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. There appeared to be great cause for trouble, for their Master was to be taken from them, and what could a few timid disciples do without Him. Yet His word is timely and wise, and because He who speaks is full of love and pity and has it in His own power to make His advice become prophetic of deliverance, our hearts need not be troubled.

It is the easiest thing in the world in times of difficulty to let the heart be troubled, and a troubled heart wins no good but may work incalculable mischief. It is a root which bears no fruit except wormwood. It magnifies and aggravates and misrepresents the trial, and makes that which is bad worse. All the water in the ocean will not hurt your vessel so long as it is kept outside, but when it breaks into the cabin of the heart and begins to fill the hold, then are we in peril.

Our peace comes to us by faith, and if our faith grows weak our peace of mind is apt to decline and we become much disturbed in spirit. The peace which Jesus gives is not as the world gives. The world gives in fair weather and with empty show, but Christ gives perfect peace, peace upon peace, to him whose mind is stayed upon Him because he trusts in Him. When we learned that our enormous debt of sin had been fully discharged by His blood, then was our heart at peace. Remember first of all that you are forgiven if you have believed on Him, and being forgiven there is really no good reason in all the world for your heart to remain afraid.

If believing in Jesus you are still troubled, believe in Him again, yet more thoroughly and heartily, committing to Him all your past, your present and your future. Ask with the psalmist, Why are you troubled and why do doubts arise in your heart, and bring every care to Him who planted the ear and will surely hear. He will fulfill the desire of them that fear Him.

May the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, apply this word to your soul. May He keep you in perfect peace as your mind is stayed upon Christ, and give you strength within to bear whatever sorrows may surge round you, till you find even in the midnight of this world of care a heaven of peace within, because the blood of Jesus whispers peace. We pray that you may at once have done with doubts and fears and enter immediately into rest, trusting Him with all your heart and finding His peace to be your portion now and evermore.

Jesus knew the hearts of His disciples were troubled when He spoke those words, and He knows what weighs on your heart now. He did not wait for them to explain their fear, but spoke first to comfort them, saying let not your heart be troubled and do not be afraid.

The peace He gives is not as the world gives. The world offers peace when circumstances are calm, but Christ gives peace even while the struggle continues. His gospel is called the gospel of peace because by His cross the war between us and God has ended. If we are reconciled to God through Jesus Christ alone, then even when we must contend against sin and the pressures of this life, we can be at peace with God, and the victory is already won for us. That is why He can tell a troubled heart not to sink down, for nothing strange has come upon you that He has not seen and overcome.

So do not let fear rule you. Keep your heart prepared by walking closely with Him in a faithful and virtuous life, remembering that God is present everywhere, hearing and seeing all that is in the heart. Serve Him with reverent fear and quiet trust, and rejoice with trembling, knowing it is God who works in you both to will and to work for His good pleasure. You do not have to steady your own heart by your own strength. Bring every anxiety to Him in prayer, ask Him to guard your heart and mind, and rest in the security He alone can give.

I pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, grant to this dear one the peace that Christ Himself has promised, a peace that does not depend on outward calm but on being reconciled to You through Your Son. Quiet the troubled heart, remove fear, and fill this life with confidence in Your presence and Your care. Lead into deeper trust and obedience, and let Your peace guard heart and mind day by day. Amen.

The words you have held onto in John 14:27 point to a kind of peace the world cannot give. The world offers a fragile calm that depends on circumstances going well, and it often says peace, peace when there is no real peace underneath. As long as a heart is at war with God there cannot be lasting peace, because the inner turmoil remains. Jesus offers something different. He offers a peace treaty to those who have been at enmity with God, and when sins are forgiven through Him the war inside is quieted and the heart can rest.

That peace is closely tied to walking in the fear of the Lord. That fear is not a phobia but a reverent respect that is the beginning and the sum of true wisdom. To fear the Lord is to hate evil, to depart from it, to love what He loves and to turn from what He calls wrong. When you incline your ear to wisdom and hide His words and commandments in your heart, when you keep mercy and truth before you, He adds length of days and peace. Trusting Him with all your heart, not leaning on your own understanding, and acknowledging Him in all your ways brings you into that quiet confidence.

Jesus also said, do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid. Fear so often comes when we forget the Lord is present with us. David could say though I walk through the valley of death I will fear no evil for You are with me, because he remembered the Lord. Fear and faith do not live well together, and fear by itself will push us to make wrong choices. Remembering the Lord is the cure for fear. The Lord is your light and your salvation, whom shall you fear. He is the strength of your life, of whom shall you be afraid. His eyes are upon the righteous and His ear is open to their cry, and in the time of trouble He hides His own in His shelter.

The wisdom that comes from above is peaceable. It first makes peace with God, and then it brings peace within your own soul, which then allows you to live at peace with others. Those who sow peace reap the fruit of righteousness, and Jesus called the peacemakers blessed because they reflect the character of God.

I pray that the Lord will quiet your heart today as you remember He is with you. May He help you to keep His Word treasured in your heart, to hate what is evil and to seek what is good, to pursue peace and trust Him fully. May He grant you His own peace that steadies you when circumstances shake, and may that peace guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
