Job situation

Asking specific prayers for my current job, for God to open up the door asap for my shift to change to 3rd shift or open up a another job opportunity altogether for the time being before I transition to the next city I am planning on moving to. It's become so draining, toxic, and aggravating with the constant watching my work like I don't know what I am doing, which I have by the grace of God been doing that kind of work for ### years on and off. I am praying to get out of this field so prayers that God will have His way in all of this.

We hear the weariness and frustration in your request and we join with you in bringing this job situation before the Father together in Jesus' name. We understand how draining and aggravating it is to feel constantly watched and second guessed in work you have faithfully done for many years on and off by the grace of God, and how heavy it feels when the environment becomes toxic. We also hear your desire for God to open a door quickly, either for your shift to change to third shift or for another job opportunity altogether before you transition to the next city where you plan to move, and ultimately to get out of this field according to His will.

We want to encourage you with what Scripture says about work and God's guidance. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ. Colossians 3:23-24 reminds us that even when people are watching us critically, our ultimate service is to the Lord who sees our diligence and faithfulness. We also take comfort that a man's heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps. Proverbs 16:9 and For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 show us that God is not unaware of your plans to move and your desire for a change, and He is directing your steps for your good. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28, even the difficult seasons in a draining workplace can be used by Him to refine us and prepare us for what is next.

In this waiting, we encourage you to continue to do your work with excellence as unto the Lord, to guard your heart against bitterness, and to seek wisdom in practical steps as well, speaking respectfully with your supervisors about the shift change you desire and diligently seeking other opportunities as God leads, trusting Him to open the door that no one can shut. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 is our anchor when aggravation rises, that as we bring each concern to Him, He will guard our hearts with His peace.

We noticed you mentioned God and His grace, which we rejoice in, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is by placing our faith in Jesus, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord, that we are saved and brought into relationship with God. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. We encourage you to be sure you are coming to God through Jesus, and to pray in His name, for there is no other way.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up our dear one to You. You see the exhaustion and the frustration of this job, the feeling of being watched and not trusted, and the toxicity that has made each day so draining. Lord, You know the years of experience You have graciously given and the desire to move into a different field and a new city. We ask that You would have Your perfect way in all of this. If it is Your will, open the door as soon as possible for the shift to change to third shift, or provide another job opportunity that will be a place of provision and peace for this time of transition. Give wisdom to make the right decisions, favor with employers, and clarity about the next steps toward the move You have placed on the heart. Grant endurance and grace to work heartily for You even in a difficult environment, guard the heart from discouragement and anger, and fill this dear one with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Lead and direct each step, and let Your will be done above all else. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, our only hope and access to You, amen.

A couple of small practical steps that may help you feel less stuck: consider putting your shift preference in writing to your supervisor or HR so there is a clear record, and ask what the usual timeline is for third shift openings. At the same time, since you hope to leave this field, you could quietly update a simple resume and let one or two trusted contacts know you are looking for interim work that fits better until your move. Keeping a short note of what is most aggravating each day can also help you speak calmly and specifically if a conversation about your role comes up.

Father, we lift our friend to You. You see the frustration and fatigue at work and the desire for a better fit. Please open the right door in Your timing, whether a shift change or another job, and give wisdom for the move ahead. Grant rest, steadiness and encouragement each day. In Jesus name, amen.

Your request has been laid before the Lord with care and sympathy. To labour day after day under a watching eye, to feel that your skill after years of faithful work is questioned, is indeed draining to both body and spirit, and we do not make light of the heaviness you feel. The Lord knows the weariness of such a place, and He marks the trials of His people, for there is no wrong done to His children but it is registered in His archives and weighed in His fatherly pity.

You have been, as David said, God's pupil, taught by Him from your youth and until this time have you declared His wondrous works. Even this present trial is part of His school. He was chastened, but he was never cast out, he still continued as God's pupil. So the Lord teaches us not only by His Word and by the public services of His house, but by observation and by the very troubles we endure, that we may learn to read His work and wonder at it. Though the great congregation of your workplace may be a mockery to your spirit, remember you are among God's hidden ones, hidden by Him with a view to safety, though for a season unrevealed and tried.

We join you in praying that the Lord, in His perfect wisdom and timing, will open the door that no man can shut. We ask that if it be His will, He will grant you the change to the third shift you seek, or in His mercy provide another job altogether to sustain you before your transition to the next city. We pray not simply for escape, but that God will have His way in all of this, that His work in you and for you may be made plain, and that you may be enabled to declare His wondrous works with pen and voice wherever He places you.

Remember the number of God's mercies, which we know not the numbers thereof, yet we know every one comes to us by way of the Cross and bears the mark of the Redeemer's blood. There is a fountain open still for sin and for uncleanness, and that fountain is open also for the child of God who has grown weary and cold, that your spiritual life may be revived. Come to it again and find cleansing and strength for the day.

May the Lord give you holy patience in this time of trouble, which is an open evidence of His grace, and may He guide your steps, provide for your needs, and keep you faithful in your labour as unto Him until He moves you onward. We pray you will be kept from bitterness, and that you will find rest in Christ, who alone is our salvation, and who has promised that those who trust beneath His Cross shall be saved.
