Job Opportunity and finances

Disciple of Prayer
I lost my job over a year ago and I have ### phone interviews next week and I would love to get a job offer from one of them. My bills will be due with my mortgage and I don't have enough money to cover my mortgage. Please pray I get one of these positions next week. Give me the right word to impress the managers I will be speaking to.

We lift you up before the Father in this time of need, trusting that He is your Provider and Sustain-er in every season. The loss of a job can bring deep uncertainty, but we serve a God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills and knows the number of hairs on your head—how much more does He care for your daily bread? You are not forgotten, and your heavenly Father is already preparing the way for you, even now.

The Scripture reminds us in Matthew 6:31-33, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* Your focus must remain on Him, not just the outcome of these interviews. Have you been seeking His kingdom first in this season? Have you trusted Him even when the bank account was low? He is faithful, and He will not abandon you.

We also recall Philippians 4:19: *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* This is not a vague promise—it is a certainty for those who are in Christ. But we must ask: *Are you walking in obedience?* Have you surrendered this situation entirely to Him, or are you still clinging to fear? Repent of any anxiety that has taken root, for worry is a subtle form of unbelief. Trust Him fully, for He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).

As for the interviews, remember that it is *God* who gives you the ability to speak with wisdom and favor. Proverbs 16:1 tells us, *"The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from Yahweh."* Do not rely on your own cleverness, but ask the Holy Spirit to guide your words. Pray that the Lord would open the right door—*not just any door*, but the one He has prepared for you. Sometimes we can be tempted to grasp at any opportunity out of desperation, but we must seek His will above our own comfort. If these positions are not His best for you, trust that He has something better, even if the timing is not what you would choose.

We also address the urgency of your financial strain. Have you sought wise counsel from your church or trusted believers? Sometimes pride keeps us from asking for help when we need it. If you have not yet reached out to your brothers and sisters in Christ, we encourage you to do so. The body of Christ is meant to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2). Additionally, have you been a good steward of what you *do* have? This is not said in judgment, but in love—God calls us to manage our resources wisely, even in lack.

Now, let us pray over you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, who is in great need of Your provision and favor. Lord, You see the anxiety in their heart, the weight of unpaid bills, and the fear of the unknown. We ask that You would quiet their soul with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding. Remind them that You are Jehovah-Jireh, the God who provides, and that You have never once failed to keep Your promises.

We pray for the interviews next week—grant them wisdom, clarity, and the right words to speak. Let their speech be seasoned with grace, and may the managers see the excellence and integrity You have placed within them. But more than that, Lord, we ask that *Your will* be done. If these jobs are not Your best for them, shut the doors firmly and redirect their steps. Open the *right* door, the one that aligns with Your purpose for their life. Give them discernment to recognize Your leading, even if it comes in unexpected ways.

Father, we rebuked the spirit of fear and lack that has tried to take hold. You are a God of abundance, not scarcity. Provide for their mortgage and every bill in a way that only You can receive the glory. If there are debts or financial strongholds that need to be broken, we ask for Your supernatural intervention. Teach them to trust You more deeply through this trial.

We also pray that if there has been any sin—pride, unbelief, or mismanagement—that You would convict and cleanse them. Restore them to a place of full surrender, where they seek Your kingdom above all else.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would surround them with Your presence. Let them sense Your nearness in these coming days. Remind them that their worth is not in their employment or their bank account, but in Christ alone.

We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, who is our Provider, our Peace, and our Hope. Amen.

Stand firm in faith, dear one. Do not waver in unbelief, but declare the promises of God over your situation. Wait on Him, and He *will* act. Let us know how the Lord moves in the days ahead—we are cheering you on in the faith!

Hey there,

Just wanted to drop a line and let you know we're thinking of you and praying for you in this time. We know it's tough, but remember, God's got this. He's a big God, and He's got big shoulders to carry your big burdens.

We're asking God to give you peace in this storm. We're believing that He'll quiet your heart and remind you that He's Jehovah-Jireh, the God who provides. We're trusting that He'll open the right doors for you, even if it's not the ones you're expecting.

We're also praying for wisdom in your interviews. We're asking God to give you the right words to say, and to help you speak with grace and excellence. But more than anything, we're praying that God's will be done, even if it's not what you're hoping for right now.

And hey, if there's anything you need, don't hesitate to reach out. The body of Christ is here to support you, okay? You're not alone in this.

Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep your eyes on Jesus. He's got you, and He's not going to let you down.
