Jesus

We hear your cry and we join with you before the throne of grace in Jesus' name, for you have rightly called upon Him who alone hears and saves.

We know what it is to wait with a heavy heart, when dread feels louder than hope and fear feels larger than the good we can see. The Lord knows this waiting and this fear intimately, and He does not turn away from your plea for mercy. His mercy is new every morning.

The Scripture reminds us, It is because of Yahweh's loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn't fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23. And again, Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh. Psalm 27:14. Your waiting is not unseen, and it is not wasted when it is waiting upon Him.

Fear and dread are real, but they are not to rule us. For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear. 1 John 4:18. The perfect love of Christ toward us is what drives that fear out, not our own strength. We are told, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10. He Himself is with you in this waiting.

We pray together for you now.

Father, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. We ask for Your mercy to pour out afresh. Lord, You see the dread and the fear that weighs heavy, and the sense that good is so small. We ask You to replace that dread with Your peace. We pray as You have promised, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. Guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Reveal Your goodness even in this hard waiting, for we know every good gift comes from You. Lift the eyes to see Your loving kindness and let courage take hold. We sought Yahweh, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:4. Do this deliverance now, Lord, we pray. Strengthen and uphold with Your righteous right hand. Let this waiting become a testimony of Your faithfulness. We ask this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to keep bringing this honest prayer before Him, day by day, even with simple words like Lord have mercy. He hears. We encourage you to dwell in His Word and let His promises speak louder than your fears, and to share this burden with faithful believers who can walk with you and pray with you as you wait. The Lord is not distant in your waiting. He is near, He is merciful, and He will be your strength.

We heard your honest cry and we are sitting with you in it. Waiting when your heart is full of dread can make every hour feel longer, and when fear feels bigger than any good you can see, it is hard to know where to rest.

You did the right thing bringing this straight to Jesus with a simple Lord have mercy. That honest prayer is enough when words are thin.

Waiting alone often lets fear grow louder. It can help to not wait alone. If you have one trusted person, a pastor, a mature friend, or a counselor, would you consider letting them know this week that you are in a season of dread and need someone to walk with you and pray with you regularly? Just naming it out loud to another person can make the waiting less isolating.

If you notice the dread settling in deeply, disrupting sleep or daily life, please consider reaching out to a pastor or counselor or your doctor for support alongside prayer. You do not have to push through on your own.

Jesus, we lift our friend to You right now. Have mercy and draw near in this waiting. Quiet the fear where You can and give steadiness for today, and lead with Your gentle presence through what is ahead. We trust them into Your care. In Jesus name, amen.

Waiting around in dread is a heavy way to live, and I'm sorry that's where you are right now. There's a short spoken prayer called the Limbic System Repatterning Prayer on the One Prayer at a Time YouTube channel, prayed over calming fear and stress in the body, and you only have to listen. I hope some good comes your way soon.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer, though brief, lays bare a condition well known to many of the Lord's people, to wait and to wait in dread, to see so little good and so much to fear. The very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty, and therefore the Lord would have you cast that dread upon Himself.

Hear what the Scripture says for such as you are, "Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, on those who hope in His mercy." To hope in His mercy seems but a small thing, and yet it is a sure sign of His work in the heart, for those who hope in His mercy are the same as those who fear Him. The Lord takes pleasure in them that hope in His mercy, and a bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench.

You feel there is so little good in yourself, and in that you judge rightly. There is no hope for you in yourself, but there is hope for you in Him whom God has provided to be the Savior of such as you. All God's mercy to a sinner is gratis. He never sells, He always gives. He asks no payment, but acts because He will have mercy on whom He will have mercy. His mercy is tender mercy, and it comes to you now, not after long waiting on your part, for our God is a waiting God. He waits that He may be gracious unto you, and His mercy goes before you to forestall you. While you are yet speaking He hears, while you are yet fearing He pities, as a father pities his children.

You speak of much to fear. Let your fear be turned to its right object. The man who has the fear of God within his heart need have no fear of anybody else. Fear Him, and you will then have nothing else to fear. Make His service your delight and He will make your needs His care. There is confidence toward any sinner who is convinced of the uprightness of God and who confesses that he can only be saved through grace and mercy.

Therefore look not within for hope, but look to Christ. Trust the Savior who died on Calvary's cross and now lives enthroned in glory. He can tell you of God's mercy not in words only, but with a sweet sense of mercy shed abroad in your heart. He can make you feel the way of salvation as well as know it, and lead you to accept it as well as to understand it.

May the Lord turn your possible hope into an actual hope, and give you a good hope of eternal life through believing in Jesus Christ. May He lift the anchor of unbelief that holds you in dread, and show you that He is full of tender mercy and abundant grace even to you.

We pray that you may be enabled to say with holy boldness, Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me, for my soul trusts in You, and that waiting upon the Lord you may find your dread exchanged for joyous and assured hope of blessedness in reserve. Amen.
