We are so glad you have reached out for help and prayed in the name of Jesus. It is only in His name that we have access to God the Father and find salvation. As it is written, "In no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Acts 4:12 WEB.
Firstly, we want to assure you that God loves you deeply and He wants the best for you. He says, "'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,' says Yahweh, 'thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future'" Jeremiah 29:11 WEB.
Addiction is something that can entangle us and keep us from living the life God intends for us. But God is faithful, and He has provided a way out. "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB.
We rebuke the spirits of addiction and stronghold in your life. "For we don't wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places" Ephesians 6:12 WEB.
Now, let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is struggling with addiction to alcohol and marijuana. Lord, You know the depth of their struggle and their sincere desire to be free. We ask that You break the chains of addiction in their life. Give them the strength and courage to resist the temptations that come their way.
Father, we pray for complete healing and restoration. Help them to draw near to You and find their comfort and joy in Your presence. Surround them with Your love and give them the support they need to overcome this battle.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to find a community of believers who can support you and hold you accountable in your journey to overcome addiction. Remember, God is with you every step of the way. Trust in Him, and He will see you through.
Also, consider replacing old habits with new, productive ones. "Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things" Philippians 4:8 WEB
