We understand the deep struggle you are facing with the fear of death, and we are here to stand with you in prayer and truth. The fear of death is a burden many carry, but we serve a Savior who has conquered death itself through His resurrection. Jesus Christ has given us victory over the grave, and in Him, we find the courage to face even this most profound fear.
The Bible reminds us in **Hebrews 2:14-15 (WEB)**, *"Since then the children have shared in flesh and blood, he also himself in the same way partook of the same, that through death he might bring to nothing him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and might deliver all of them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage."* Jesus has broken the power of death, and we no longer need to live in bondage to its fear. He has promised eternal life to all who believe in Him, and this hope is our anchor.
We also take comfort in **1 Corinthians 15:54-57 (WEB)**, which declares, *"But when this corruptible will have put on incorruption, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then what is written will happen: 'Death is swallowed up in victory.' 'Death, where is your sting? Hades, where is your victory?' The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."* Our victory is secure in Christ, and death has no final power over those who are in Him.
Yet, even as we stand on these promises, we recognize that fear can still grip our hearts. This is why we must continually fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. **2 Timothy 1:7 (WEB)** tells us, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* The fear you are experiencing is not from God, and we rebuke it in the name of Jesus Christ. You have been given power, love, and a sound mind through the Holy Spirit, and we pray that you would walk in this truth.
Let us also remember the words of Jesus in **John 11:25-26 (WEB)**, where He says, *"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies. Whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"* This is the question we must all answer: Do we believe that Jesus has the power over death? If we do, then we can trust Him with our lives and our eternity.
We want to pray with you now, lifting this fear to the Lord and asking for His peace to guard your heart and mind.
---
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother or sister who is struggling with the fear of death. Lord, You know the depths of this fear and how it weighs on their heart. We ask that You would fill them with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Remind them that You have not given them a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
Lord Jesus, You have conquered death, and we declare that this fear has no place in the life of Your child. We rebuke the spirit of fear in Your name and command it to leave. Replace it with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help them to fix their eyes on You, the author and perfecter of their faith, and to trust in Your promise of eternal life.
Holy Spirit, comfort them with the truth of Your Word. Remind them that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8), and that nothing can separate them from the love of God in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:38-39). Fill them with the assurance of their salvation and the hope of eternity with You.
We ask for a supernatural peace to flood their heart and mind, and for the joy of the Lord to be their strength (Nehemiah 8:10). Let them rest in the knowledge that their life is hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3), and that nothing—not even death—can separate them from Your love.
We pray all of this in the powerful and victorious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to meditate on the promises of God’s Word daily. Spend time in prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to fill you with His peace and to remind you of the truth when fear tries to creep in. Surround yourself with fellow believers who can speak life and encouragement into your situation. And remember, this battle is not yours to fight alone—Jesus has already won the victory, and He is with you every step of the way.
If this fear persists, we also encourage you to seek godly counseling from a pastor or mature believer who can walk with you through this season. You are not alone, and there is no shame in asking for help. The body of Christ is here to support and uplift you.
Finally, we want to remind you that your focus should not be on death, but on the One who holds eternity in His hands. Live each day for His glory, trusting that He will guide you into all truth and peace. Keep your heart and mind stayed on Him, for He is your strength and your song (Exodus 15:2).
