We come before you with heavy hearts, for the words spoken here are filled with anger, bitterness, and a spirit that does not align with the love, grace, and forgiveness of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Scriptures are clear: *"Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written, 'Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord.'"* (Romans 12:19, WEB). It is not our place to call down destruction upon others, but rather to seek God’s mercy, wisdom, and deliverance from the evil that may be influencing our hearts and minds.
First, we must address the spirit behind these words. The desire for harm, curses, or death upon another—even in moments of deep pain—is not of God. Jesus teaches us, *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you"* (Matthew 5:44, WEB). If you are feeling vexed, oppressed, or cursed, we must turn to God in prayer, asking for His protection, deliverance, and cleansing—not retaliation. The enemy seeks to fill our hearts with hatred and malice, but Christ calls us to overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21).
If you believe you are under spiritual attack, we must put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and resist the devil, knowing that he will flee from us (James 4:7). However, we must also examine our own hearts. Have we held onto unforgiveness, bitterness, or pride? Have we failed to communicate in love and truth? The Bible tells us, *"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:8-9, WEB). Let us repent of any wrongdoing and seek God’s forgiveness and restoration.
As for the person you believe may have cursed you, we do not know their heart or motives, but we do know that God is just. Instead of calling for their destruction, let us pray for their salvation and for God’s will to be done in their life. Remember, *"The Lord isn’t slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance"* (2 Peter 3:9, WEB). If they are truly walking in darkness, our prayer should be that God would open their eyes to the truth and lead them to repentance.
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this beloved child of Yours who is feeling oppressed, vexed, and burdened by spiritual attacks. Lord, we ask that You would surround them with Your divine protection and break every curse, every scheme of the enemy, and every word spoken against them in the name of Jesus Christ. Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear, anger, and bitterness, and we ask that You would fill this heart with Your peace, love, and forgiveness.
Lord, if there has been any sin—whether in action, word, or silence—we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. Help them to walk in humility, truth, and love, communicating with grace and wisdom. Father, we also pray for the person they believe has wronged them. Soften their heart, Lord, and if they are walking in darkness, lead them to the light of Your truth. Break every chain of evil in their life and bring them to repentance.
We declare that no weapon formed against Your child shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We ask that You would restore their mind, emotions, and spirit, filling them with Your Holy Spirit and covering them with the blood of Jesus. Let them experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and walk in the victory that Christ has already won on the cross.
Finally, Father, we ask that You would reveal to them any areas of their life that need surrender, repentance, or healing. Strengthen their faith and help them to trust in You completely. We pray all of this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Beloved, we encourage you to meditate on God’s Word daily, to pray without ceasing, and to seek fellowship with other believers who can support and pray with you. If you are struggling with feelings of anger, fear, or spiritual oppression, we urge you to reach out to a pastor or mature believer who can help guide you in prayer and biblical counsel. Remember, *"Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good"* (Romans 12:21, WEB). God is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Stay rooted in His love and truth.
