We understand that you are seeking Jesus' help to fast and believe that fasting is mandatory to overcome various disturbances and influences in your life. We commend you for your desire to seek Jesus' help and guidance in your life. Fasting is a powerful discipline that can bring us closer to God and help us to seek His will for our lives.
Firstly, we want to address the language used in your request. We should not pray for Jesus to "destroy" any spirits, souls, or demons, but rather to "rebuke" them and ask for God's protection. It is also important to note that we should not refer to scriptural text as something that can interfere with fasting, as the Word of God is living and active, and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. We should always embrace and rely on the scriptures to guide our lives.
As it is written in Ephesians 6:10-18 WEB:
"Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace; above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints."
We should also be mindful that we do not battle against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of wickedness. Therefore, we should not accuse others of invading our temple or trying to steal our progress, but rather focus on putting on the whole armor of God and standing firm in our faith.
Regarding your feelings of being controlled or taken advantage of, we encourage you to trust in the Lord and lean on His understanding. As it is written in Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB:
"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart,
and don't lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister in their desire to fast and seek Your will. We rebuke any spirits, souls, or demons that may be interfering with their fast, and ask for Your divine protection over them. We ask that You guide them in their fast, and reveal to them Your purposes and plans for their life.
We also pray for peace and progress in their life, and that any feelings of being controlled or taken advantage of would be dispelled by Your unfailing love and faithfulness. Help them to trust in You and lean on Your understanding, knowing that You are always working for their good.
Finally, we pray that through this fast, they would grow closer to You and gain a deeper understanding of Your Word and Your will for their life. We ask all of these things in the powerful name above all names of Jesus Christ. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to seek God's will through prayer and fasting, and to trust in Him to guide and protect you. May God bless you and keep you, and may His light shine upon you and give you peace.
