Servant of All
Dear God please help me and my wife with our AUD. We had a great time talking to each other and then after awhile we ended up not understanding each other and not listening to each other. I'm going to go upstairs to sleep by myself and I am so sorry that I have so much of a hard time to relate to my wife. Please help me be a better husband and a better person and a better employee and a better dad to our adult kid's. I'm so sorry for asking you to help me every day. Thank you for your help and your love for me. Thank you for so many others who have been praying for me. Please help me have a good nights sleep. I have not slept well for the past few days. Please help me God I need you to help me do better. Amen

We hear your heartfelt cry for help, and we join you in lifting this burden before the Lord. Your acknowledgment of your struggles and your desire to be a better husband, father, employee, and man of God is a powerful first step. The Lord sees your sincerity and your willingness to change, and He is faithful to meet you in your weakness. Scripture reminds us in 2 Corinthians 12:9, "He has said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me."

Your struggle with Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) is not just a personal battle but one that affects your entire family. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in the name of Jesus Christ, for it seeks to destroy the unity and peace that God intends for your marriage and family. The Bible warns us in 1 Peter 5:8, "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." But we stand on the promise of 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."

We also recognize the communication breakdown in your marriage. The enemy delights in sowing discord between husbands and wives, but we declare that your marriage is covered by the blood of Jesus. Ephesians 4:29-32 instructs us, "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. Don’t grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." We pray that God would soften both of your hearts to listen to one another with patience, love, and understanding. May He restore the lines of communication and help you both to speak and hear with the grace of Christ.

You mentioned feeling guilty for asking God for help every day, but we want to encourage you, this is exactly what God invites us to do. In Matthew 7:7, Jesus says, "Ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you." God desires for you to come to Him with your needs, your struggles, and your weaknesses. He is not weary of your prayers; He delights in them. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and contrite hearts, lifting up this brother in Christ who is struggling with addiction, communication in his marriage, and the weight of his many roles. Lord, we thank You for his honesty and his desire to change. We ask that You would break the chains of addiction in his life by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Fill him with Your strength and give him the courage to seek help, whether through accountability, counseling, or support groups that honor You. Father, we rebuke the spirit of addiction in the name of Jesus and declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him.

Lord, we pray for restoration in his marriage. Soften both of their hearts to hear one another with love and patience. Help them to communicate in a way that builds up rather than tears down. Give them the wisdom to seek godly counsel if needed and the humility to forgive one another as You have forgiven them. May their marriage be a reflection of Christ’s love for the Church, holy and blameless before You.

Father, we also lift up his role as a father and an employee. Give him the strength to lead his family with wisdom and love, and grant him favor in his workplace. Help him to be a man of integrity, honoring You in all that he does. We ask that You would calm his mind and grant him the restful sleep he so desperately needs. Renew his strength each day, for You are his refuge and his strength, a very present help in trouble.

Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness and for the promise that You will never leave nor forsake him. Remind him daily of Your love and grace, and help him to walk in the freedom that is found only in You. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord daily, not out of guilt, but out of a desire to draw nearer to Him. Consider reaching out to a pastor, Christian counselor, or a support group like Celebrate Recovery, which can provide biblical guidance and accountability. You are not alone in this battle, and God has placed people in your life who can walk alongside you. Keep pressing into Him, for He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you.

We’re praying for you right now, brother, and we see the weight you’re carrying, both the struggles with AUD and the heartbreak in your marriage. It’s clear how much you love your wife, and that love shouldn’t be buried under exhaustion or bitterness.

Let’s ask the Lord to meet you in your weariness tonight. You mentioned trouble sleeping, we’re asking for peace to settle into your mind and heart, so you can wake up refreshed and ready to face another day with hope. God doesn’t want you to carry this alone; He’s right there with you, whispering, "I am enough."

For your marriage, we’re praying that the Holy Spirit would soften your voice when you speak to each other and open your ears to truly hear. Maybe start small, just one intentional moment of kindness or patience each day. And for your adult child, we’re lifting up your desire to be the dad they deserve, even when it feels impossible.

You’re not failing, brother. You’re fighting, and that’s what matters. Keep coming to God with your honesty, your exhaustion, and your longing to be better. He’s not waiting for you to "get it all together" before He meets you, He’s already there, waiting with open arms.

In Jesus’ name, we declare that His strength will sustain you today, His grace will cover your weaknesses, and His love will restore what’s broken. You’re not just asking for help, you’re inviting Him in, and that’s where the real change begins. Keep going.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer during this time of struggle and self-reflection. It is our heart’s desire to lift you, your wife, and your family before the Lord, asking Him to mend what is broken and soften hearts to hear one another again. We have prayed for unity in your marriage, wisdom in your words, and patience in your spirit as you seek to be the husband, father, and employee God has called you to be.

If the Lord has already begun to answer these prayers—if you’ve found moments of peace, clarity, or reconciliation—we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report. Your testimony could be an encouragement to others walking a similar path. If, however, the weight still feels heavy and the nights still restless, please know we are here to continue lifting you up. You are not alone in this journey. We invite you to share your request again so we may persist in prayer, trusting that God hears and moves in His perfect timing.

May the Father draw near to you in this season, filling you with His peace that surpasses understanding. May He grant you restful sleep and renew your strength each morning. And may He continue to shape you into the man He has designed you to be—a reflection of His love, grace, and faithfulness to your family and those around you. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
