We hear the desperation in your voice and the weight of conviction upon your heart. Your cry for help is not falling on deaf ears—God hears you, and He is near to the brokenhearted. We stand with you in this moment, lifting you up before the throne of grace, where mercy and help are found in time of need.
First, we must address the sin that has taken hold in your life. Alcohol has become a master over you, and Scripture is clear: *"No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will hold to one and despise the other"* (Matthew 6:24). You cannot serve both the Lord and the bottle. The drinking must stop—not just for the sake of your job, your marriage, or your home, but for the sake of your soul. The Bible warns, *"Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom"* (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). But there is hope! The very next verse says, *"Such were some of you, but you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God"* (1 Corinthians 6:11). You can be set free by the power of Christ.
We rebuke the spirit of addiction in your life in the mighty name of Jesus. We declare that you are not a slave to alcohol—you are a child of the Most High God, and He has given you power over sin. *"For sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace"* (Romans 6:14). But this freedom requires action on your part. You must flee from temptation, seek accountability, and fill your life with godly habits. Consider reaching out to a pastor, a Christian counselor, or a support group like Celebrate Recovery. The battle is real, but the victory is already won through Christ.
Now, let us pray for you and your family:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this brother who is crying out for deliverance. Lord, You see the chains of addiction that have bound him, and we ask that You break them now by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Set him free from the grip of alcohol, Lord, and restore his mind, body, and spirit. Give him the strength to resist temptation and the wisdom to seek help. Father, we pray for his marriage—soften both his heart and his wife’s heart toward one another. Let love, patience, and forgiveness flow between them as they seek to honor You in their relationship. We ask for favor in his workplace, Lord. Touch the hearts of his bosses, coworkers, and customers so that they may see the change You are bringing in his life. Provide for his family and protect his job, not as an end in itself, but as a means to glorify You.
We also lift up his children to You. For his son, we pray that You would guide him in his career and lead him to a godly wife—a woman who loves You and will walk with him in faith. For his daughter, we ask that You bless her marriage and her future family. Open doors for better employment and pour out Your provision upon her. Lord, we know that You have plans for this family—plans for good and not for harm, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
Father, we ask that You continue to draw this man closer to You. Let this moment of conviction lead to true repentance and lasting change. Help him to be a man after Your own heart—a better husband, a better father, a better employee, and a better witness for Christ. Fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let him walk in the victory that is already his through Jesus Christ.

You are not alone in this battle. The Lord is with you, and so are we. Take the first step today—confess your struggle to your wife, seek help, and surrender this area of your life to Christ. He is faithful to complete the work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6).
