Dear Jesus Christ please help me again to overcome any addiction to alcohol and pot self-pity. Please help me be a better husband and a better person and a better employee and a better dad. Please help me take care of my wife please soften my wife's heart and my employer and my coworkers and my customers feelings towards me. I am really a good person and I need help from God to overcome my addictions and I need help to be a better man. I am still laying in bed drinking beer and I am going to try to go back to work tomorrow morning. It's not going to be easy as I will probably be hungover and I will prefer to stay home and drink more alcohol. Maybe I can stop drinking alcohol now and I can go to sleep in my bed next to my wife and I can get my butt out of bed and go to work tomorrow morning and to be a responsible man again!

We hear your cry for help, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting you up in prayer. You are not alone in this battle, and we believe that through the power of Jesus Christ, you can overcome these struggles and become the man, husband, father, and employee that God has called you to be.

First, we want to acknowledge your honesty and vulnerability in sharing your struggles. It takes great courage to admit our weaknesses and ask for help. Scripture tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." You are not beyond God’s help, and He has already provided a way out for you.

Your battle with addiction to alcohol and pot is a serious one, and it is affecting not only your life but also your marriage, your family, and your work. We must address this with the seriousness it deserves. The Bible warns us in Ephesians 5:18, "Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit." Alcohol and drugs can dull your senses, cloud your judgment, and lead you away from the life God desires for you. We rebuke the grip of these substances in your life in the name of Jesus Christ. We declare freedom over you, for "if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36).

You mentioned that you are still lying in bed drinking beer, and we must gently but firmly address this. Proverbs 23:29-32 warns us about the dangers of alcohol: "Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who has complaints? Who has needless bruises? Who has bloodshot eyes? Those who linger over wine, who go to sample bowls of mixed wine. Do not gaze at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly! In the end it bites like a snake and poisons like a viper." Alcohol is not your friend; it is a deceiver that leads to destruction. We pray that you would have the strength to pour out that beer and turn away from this temptation right now, in the name of Jesus.

You also expressed a desire to be a better husband, father, and employee. This is a godly desire, and we believe that as you draw closer to God, He will transform you into the man He created you to be. Ephesians 5:25-28 instructs husbands, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the church to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without defect. Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself." Your wife needs your love, your leadership, and your protection. We pray that God would soften her heart toward you as you seek to honor Him in your marriage.

As a father, you are called to raise your children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). This is a high calling, and we pray that God would give you the wisdom, patience, and strength to be the dad your children need. At work, Colossians 3:23-24 reminds us, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." Your work is not just about providing for your family; it is an act of worship to God.

You mentioned that you plan to go back to work tomorrow, but you fear being hungover and wanting to stay home. We encourage you to take a bold step of faith and choose obedience over comfort. Proverbs 28:13 says, "He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy." Confess your struggle to God, renounce your addiction, and ask Him for the strength to walk in obedience. We believe that as you take this step, God will meet you with His grace and power.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who is struggling with addiction and the desire to be a better man. Lord, we thank You that You are a God who hears our cries and is near to the brokenhearted. We ask that You would break the chains of addiction in his life. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in freedom and victory. Give him the strength to resist temptation and the courage to pour out that beer and turn away from this sin.

Father, we pray for his marriage. Soften his wife’s heart toward him, and help him to love her as Christ loves the church. Give him the wisdom and patience to be a godly husband and father. Lord, we ask that You would restore his relationships with his children and help him to lead them in Your ways.

We also pray for his work. Give him the strength to get up tomorrow and go to work with a clear mind and a pure heart. Help him to serve his employer and coworkers with integrity and excellence. Lord, we ask that You would open doors of opportunity for him and bless his efforts.

Finally, Father, we pray that You would draw him closer to You. Help him to seek You above all else, for in You alone is true fulfillment and peace. We declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him, and we believe that You will complete the good work You have begun in him.

In the precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to take practical steps to overcome this addiction. Seek out a biblical counselor or a support group like Celebrate Recovery, which can provide accountability and encouragement. Surround yourself with godly men who can pray for you and walk with you in this journey. Memorize Scripture that speaks to your struggle, such as 1 Corinthians 10:13 and Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."

Remember, victory is not achieved in your own strength but through the power of Jesus Christ. Keep pressing into Him, and do not grow weary in doing good. Galatians 6:9 assures us, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up." You are not alone, and we are standing with you in prayer. Keep fighting the good fight of faith!

Hey there,

We're right here with you, brother. We've been where you are, and we know it's tough. But we also know that Jesus is right there with you, ready to help you overcome.

First off, we want to tell you that we're proud of you for reaching out and being honest about your struggles. It takes courage to admit we need help, and that's the first step to getting it.

Now, about that beer in your hand. We know it's hard, but we believe you can do this. You can put it down and walk away. You're stronger than that drink. Remember, alcohol isn't your friend; it's a liar that promises fun but delivers pain. Pour it out, brother. Pour it out and turn your back on it. You don't need it. You've got something better - the power of Jesus Christ living inside you.

We also want to encourage you about your family and work. Your wife needs you, your kids need you, and your job needs you. You've got a responsibility to them, and we believe you can be the husband, dad, and employee God wants you to be. It won't be easy, but with Jesus, nothing is impossible.

Tomorrow morning, when your alarm goes off, we want you to get up, take a shower, and go to work. Don't let fear or doubt hold you back. Trust in Jesus. He'll give you the strength you need.

We're praying for you, brother. We're asking God to give you the strength to resist temptation, to help you be the man He's called you to be, and to bless your family and your work. We're believing with you for victory.

You're not alone in this. We're here, and so is Jesus. Keep fighting, brother. Keep fighting, and don't give up. You've got this.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Be a Prayer Warrior: “Praying for others”

**Heavenly Father,**

We come before You, lifting up this man who is crying out for help. Lord, You see his struggle. You see the battle within him against alcohol, against pot, against self-pity, and against the weight of his own shortcomings. Your Word says in **Psalm 34:17-18**, "The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Draw near to him now, Lord. Hear his cry and deliver him.

Father, we ask for Your supernatural strength to break the chains of addiction. Your Word declares in **John 8:36**, "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." We speak freedom over this man in the name of Jesus Christ. Break the hold that alcohol and pot have on his body, his mind, and his spirit. Replace the desire for numbness with a desire for life, for clarity, and for the fullness of the life You have for him.

Lord, we pray for his marriage. Soften his wife's heart toward him. Let her see the man he longs to become—the husband, father, and provider he is reaching to be. We also pray for his employer, his coworkers, and his customers. Let Your favor rest upon him as he returns to work. Let forgiveness, patience, and grace be extended to him. Your Word promises in **Proverbs 3:3-4**, "Let love and faithfulness never leave you... then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man."

Father, we pray for his role as a father and a husband. Give him the strength to be the man You have called him to be. Help him to take care of his wife, to be present, to be responsible, and to lead with love. As it is written in **Ephesians 5:25**, "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her." Let that sacrificial love grow in his heart.

Lord, we pray for tomorrow morning. Give him the courage to rise, to put his feet on the floor, and to go to work. Let him choose responsibility over retreat. Let him choose his wife's presence over isolation. Your Word says in **Philippians 4:13**, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Let that strength carry him through the morning, through the workday, and through the steps of recovery ahead.

We thank You, Father, that You do not despise a broken and contrite heart ( **Psalm 51:17** ). You see his honesty, his desire to change, and his plea for help. Meet him in this moment. Lift him out of this bed and into the life of responsibility, love, and purpose that You have for him.

In the mighty and redeeming name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
