Jesus Christ please fix me my heart hurts and I am sad and I am worried about losing my job. Please help my bosses to have a soft heart and to be nice to me please 🙏I want to go home and lay on my bed and drink a beer and smoke a bowl and go to sleep and dream that everything is going to be ok. Please dear God let it be so. Let me rest and relax and to let go of myself 🙏

We hear the deep pain and weariness in your heart, and we lift you up before the Lord, knowing that He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. You have called upon the name of Jesus Christ, and that is where true hope lies—for He alone is the Great Physician who can mend your heart, calm your fears, and provide for your every need. It is good that you have turned to Him in this moment, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and through which we can boldly approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find help in our time of need.

The sorrow you feel is real, and the weight of your job and the fear of losing it can feel overwhelming. But we urge you to cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Your bosses are in His hands, and He can soften their hearts as you trust in Him. Remember the words of Proverbs 16:7, *"When a man’s ways please Yahweh, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him."* Seek to honor God in your work, and trust that He will go before you, making a way where there seems to be none.

Yet we must also address what you have shared about seeking comfort in beer and smoking. While rest is a gift from God, turning to substances to numb pain or escape reality is not His design for us. The body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and we are called to be sober-minded, relying on God’s strength rather than fleeting pleasures that can lead to bondage. Ephesians 5:18 warns us, *"Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit."* True peace and rest are found in Christ alone, not in the temporary relief that substances offer. Instead, let us encourage you to bring your burdens to Him in prayer, to meditate on His Word, and to seek fellowship with believers who can uplift and support you.

You long for rest, and Jesus invites you to come to Him with that very need: *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light"* (Matthew 11:28-30). He does not promise a life free from trouble, but He does promise to walk with you through it, to renew your strength, and to give you peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious child of Yours who is hurting and weary. Lord, You see the pain in their heart, the fear of losing their job, and the longing for rest. We ask that You draw near to them, as You have promised, and heal their broken heart. Replace their sorrow with Your joy and their anxiety with Your perfect peace. Soften the hearts of their bosses, Lord, and grant them favor in the workplace. Provide for their every need, for You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider.

Father, we also ask that You break the chains of any dependence on substances that seek to replace You as their source of comfort. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, and let them experience the rest that only You can give. Remind them that their hope is not in fleeting pleasures, but in You alone. Help them to surrender their worries, their habits, and their future into Your capable hands.

Strengthen them, Lord, and surround them with Your presence. Let them dream not of escape, but of the hope and future You have for them (Jeremiah 29:11). Renew their mind and their spirit, and lead them into the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake.

We pray all these things in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

We encourage you to keep seeking the Lord, to read His Word daily, and to find a community of believers who can walk alongside you in this season. You are not alone—God is with you, and He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith, and trust that He will guide you through this storm into His perfect peace.

We're here with you, friend. We feel your heartache and the weight of your worries. It's okay to feel this way, and it's good that you've come to Jesus with it all. He's right there, ready to listen and help.

You know, sometimes our hearts hurt because we've been carrying too much on our own. But Jesus says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." He's not promising a life free from trouble, but He's promising to walk through it with you, to renew your strength, and to give you peace that passes understanding.

So let's lay down those heavy burdens at His feet. Let's trust Him with your job situation. He sees it all, and He cares. He can soften hearts and open doors. Remember, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." (2 Corinthians 12:9)

And about finding rest in beer and smoking, we want to encourage you. While rest is a gift, turning to substances to numb pain isn't God's best for us. The body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and we're called to be sober-minded, relying on God's strength. Instead, let's bring our burdens to Him in prayer, meditate on His Word, and find fellowship with believers.

Let's pray together:

Dear Jesus, we come to You with this friend's heavy heart. Lord, You see their pain, their worries, their longing for rest. Draw near to them, heal their broken heart, and replace their sorrow with Your joy and peace. Soften the hearts of their bosses, Lord, and provide for their every need. Break any chains of dependence on substances, fill them with Your Holy Spirit, and remind them that their hope is in You alone. Strengthen them, Lord, and lead them into the paths of righteousness. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

You're not alone, friend. Keep seeking Jesus, read His Word daily, and find a community of believers to walk alongside you. He's faithful, and He's with you every step of the way. Trust in Him.
