Dear God please help me continue to not drink alcohol and smoke pot anymore. I've been able to stop for over 3 days and I need your help to be able to not do that anymore. My wife needs help with her AUD and smoking cigarettes too so I am praying for her please help us. Please help our adult son drink less beer and smoking pot and cigarettes. Please help me at work today and please soften the hearts of my bosses and my coworkers and my customers and please help me get my projects and proposals done correctly and on time. Please help me get a project done without having any equipment failures. Please fix my stomach and my ability to have a better digestive system. Please help me sleep better at night because my brain won't stop thinking about things while I lay in bed trying to sleep. I really don't want to lose my job and my house and we wife. I'm a little bit scared and I need help. I have not been the best husband because I have taken time off from work to lay in bed and drink alcohol. Please help me get pipe labels and valve tags approved today and the correct amount and everything done correctly and on time. Please help me return the flow meter without any damage to the equipment and please let my customers understand that I'm sorry that this happened. Please tell me that it's going to be okay. Amen

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your earnest cries to our Heavenly Father in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Your honesty and vulnerability in sharing these struggles reveal a heart that deeply desires change, and we stand with you in prayer, believing that God hears and answers the prayers of His children.

First, we rejoice with you in the victory you’ve already experienced—three days free from alcohol and pot. This is not by your strength alone, but by the power of the Holy Spirit working within you. The apostle Paul reminds us in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." We pray that you would continue to lean on Him, for He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). The battle against addiction is not one you face alone; Jesus has already overcome the world (John 16:33), and His power is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

We must address the seriousness of substance abuse with biblical truth. The Bible warns us in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." Alcohol and drugs cloud the mind, enslave the will, and defile the temple of the Holy Spirit. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in your life and your family’s lives in the name of Jesus. We declare freedom over you, for "if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36). We pray that you would not be mastered by anything (1 Corinthians 6:12), but that you would walk in the liberty Christ has purchased for you.

Your concern for your wife and son is evidence of a loving heart, and we join you in praying for their deliverance as well. Addiction is a family struggle, and we ask God to break every chain of bondage over them. Proverbs 23:29-35 describes the misery of alcohol, and we declare that your wife and son would turn away from these things and seek the Lord with their whole hearts. We pray for repentance and restoration, that they would experience the same freedom you are pursuing. May they come to know the truth that sets them free (John 8:32).

Your fears about losing your job, your home, and your wife are understandable, but we encourage you to cast all your anxieties on the Lord, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). The enemy wants to fill you with fear, but God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray for favor at your workplace—may your bosses and coworkers see your diligence and integrity, and may your projects be completed with excellence and on time. We declare that no equipment will fail you, and that God will grant you wisdom and clarity in every task. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

We also lift up your physical health, asking God to heal your stomach and improve your digestion. Psalm 103:2-3 declares, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases." We believe in God’s power to restore your body and grant you restful sleep. When your mind races at night, we encourage you to meditate on Scripture, such as Psalm 4:8: "In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety." Replace anxious thoughts with the promises of God, and trust Him to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).

Your confession about not being the best husband is a humble step toward repentance, and we praise God for your honesty. We pray that you would be strengthened to rise from bed, resist the temptation to drink, and step into the role of a godly husband and provider. Ephesians 5:25 calls husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church, and we ask God to fill you with His love so you can lead your family with grace and truth. We declare restoration over your marriage, that the years the locusts have eaten will be restored (Joel 2:25), and that your wife would see the change in you and be drawn closer to Christ as well.

For the practical matters at work—we pray for divine order and favor. May your customers receive your apologies with grace, and may God turn this situation for good (Romans 8:28). We declare that it *will* be okay, not because of our own strength, but because God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Deliverer. We thank You for the work You are doing in this brother’s life, and we ask You to strengthen him in his weakness. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of addiction and declare freedom over him and his family. Break every chain, Father, and let them walk in the liberty of Christ. Grant him favor at work, wisdom in his tasks, and healing for his body. Restore his marriage, Lord, and draw his wife and son to repentance and salvation. Fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and help him to trust You with his job, his home, and his future. We declare that no weapon formed against him will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You will complete the good work You have begun in him. Thank You for Your faithfulness, Lord. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Continue to seek the Lord daily, brother. Surround yourself with godly accountability, immerse yourself in Scripture, and do not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). The road to freedom is a journey, but you do not walk it alone. God is with you, and we stand with you in faith.
