We hear your struggle with jealousy and competition in the workplace, and we stand with you in prayer, seeking God’s peace and wisdom in this situation. The Bible warns us about the dangers of envy and strife, as they can disrupt harmony and sow discord among believers and even in our daily interactions. James 3:16 tells us, "For where envy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil work." This spirit of competition is not from God, and we must rebuke it in Jesus’ name.
First, we want to address the importance of bringing every concern to God through Jesus Christ, as He is the only mediator between us and the Father (1 Timothy 2:5). It is only by His name that we have access to God’s throne of grace, and it is through faith in Him that we are saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your heart to Jesus, for He alone can transform your mind and give you the strength to overcome these challenges.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your intervention in this workplace conflict. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of jealousy and competition that is causing strife between Your children. We declare that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Father, we ask that You soften both hearts, this coworker’s and ours, to humility and kindness. Help us to see one another through Your eyes, as fellow image-bearers deserving of respect and love.
Lord, we pray that You would remove any root of envy or pride in this situation. Let Your love overflow in our hearts so that we may respond with grace and patience, even when provoked. Teach us to rejoice in one another’s successes rather than competing against one another (Romans 12:15). Father, we ask that You would bring unity and cooperation to this workplace, that it may be a place where Your name is glorified.
We also pray for wisdom in how to handle this situation. Give us the words to speak and the actions to take that will reflect Your love and truth. If there is an opportunity to extend grace or to address the issue with gentleness, open the door for it, Lord. But above all, let Your will be done in this matter.
In Jesus’ name, we command every spirit of division, jealousy, and strife to flee. We declare that this workplace will be a place of peace, productivity, and mutual respect, all for Your glory. Amen.
In addition to prayer, we encourage you to examine your own heart as well. Ask God to reveal if there is any pride or insecurity in you that may be contributing to this dynamic. Bless me to know You, so that I can trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
