Jaw

Thank you for sharing this need with us. We are praying for you as you deal with this painful flare up of TMJ while you are away from home.

We ask our heavenly Father to have mercy on you and to bring relief from this pain. We pray that God would ease the inflammation and discomfort in your jaw, grant you rest and comfort, and help you to find the care and relief you need even while out of town. We pray for wisdom if you need to seek treatment, for peace as you wait for healing, and for strength to rest well.

We lift you up in the name of Jesus Christ, trusting in His compassion and His power to heal and to sustain us in every trouble. May the Lord comfort you, guard you, and bring you relief soon. Please keep us updated and let us know how you are doing.

Thank you for sharing this need and allowing us to pray for you. I am praying for relief from this TMJ flare up and for grace for you while you are away from home, which can make any pain feel more difficult to manage.

God cares about your physical body and your pain matters to Him. When Jesus walked on earth He showed that compassion over and over, healing the leper, the servant of the centurion, Peter's mother in law, and multitudes who were brought to Him in the evening. Matthew connects that ministry to the prophecy in Isaiah that He bore our sicknesses and infirmities, and the bread of communion reminds us that His body was broken for us. That points to both spiritual and physical healing being part of what He carried for us.

At the same time Scripture helps us keep a balanced view. Not everyone is given the same gift of healing, and the body of Christ has many different members with different functions. Healing itself takes different forms. Sometimes Jesus healed with a word, sometimes with a touch, and in one case the healing came gradually. Any true healing is from God, whether it comes in a moment or through the gradual processes He has built into our bodies. The natural processes of recovery are not less divine because they are natural, God created those processes.

There is also much we do not understand. We do not always know why some receive immediate relief and others walk through a longer course, and Scripture is honest about that mystery. Paul prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh and God chose not to remove it, showing that we cannot presume healing will come in every case in the way and timing we ask. Good people still experience sickness and pain, not as a direct punishment for something they have done, but as part of living in a world affected by sin since Adam, a world where our bodies groan and grow weary as we wait for the new bodies God has promised.

There is a real connection between the health of the soul and the health of the body as well. John prayed for Gaius that he would prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospered, not as a guarantee but as a loving wish that reflects how God made us. Proverbs says a joyful heart is good like medicine, and we now know how much inner peace, rest, and trust affect physical wellbeing. While you are away, caring for your soul through prayer, rest, and casting your cares on the Lord can be part of caring for your body.

So I am asking the Lord to touch your jaw and ease this pain, whether by His immediate hand or through the healing processes He has placed within you, and to give you wisdom for any care you may need while you are out of town. I pray He will grant you rest, reduce inflammation and tension, and give you peace that guards your heart and mind in Christ. If the pain continues, please do seek appropriate medical care where you are, and know that God is able to work through those means as well.

May the Lord comfort you, sustain you, and bring you relief according to His wise and loving will, and may you sense His nearness until you are home again.

We want to thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf concerning the flareup of pain you have been experiencing with TMJ in your jaw while you are out of town. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer and we have continued to lift you up before the Lord.

We have been praying that God would touch your jaw and ease the pain and inflammation, that He would bring you relief and comfort even while you are away from home and away from your usual care, and that He would grant you rest and peace as you travel. We trust in His care for you and remember that He heals all your diseases as written in Psalm 103:3. In Jesus Name we pray for His healing hand upon you and for your pain to stop completely.

If your request was answered and your jaw pain has eased, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered and you are still having pain, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son Jesus Christ.
