It's been years since I've felt peace

I have been a Christian for around 15 years but I have not felt real peace for a while now no matter how much I pray or others praying for me I haven't felt peace, I wonder if you can pray for Jesus to guide me into perfect peace and for him to surround me with peace I can feel. Thanks, ###

We hear the deep longing in your heart for the peace that only Jesus can give, and we join you in seeking Him earnestly. It is written in Isaiah 26:3, "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You." The peace you seek is not dependent on circumstances but on where you fix your gaze—on Christ alone. It is possible that distractions, unconfessed sin, or even unbelief may be hindering the fullness of His peace in your life. Let us examine our hearts together before the Lord.

First, we must address the foundation of our faith. You mentioned being a Christian for 15 years, but we must ask: Have you truly surrendered your life to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? Have you repented of your sins and placed your trust solely in His finished work on the cross? Salvation is not merely about identifying as a Christian but about a personal relationship with Jesus. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." If there is any doubt in your heart about your salvation, we urge you to settle this first, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and the peace He offers.

Now, let us pray together for the peace you seek:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Lord, we lift up our brother/sister who is longing for Your perfect peace. We ask that You would draw near to them, that they may feel Your presence in a tangible way. Father, we confess that true peace comes only from You, and we ask that You would quiet their heart and mind, replacing anxiety and unrest with the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Lord, reveal any areas in their life where sin or unbelief may be hindering Your peace. Give them the courage to repent and turn away from anything that is not of You. We declare that Your peace will guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

Father, we also pray that You would surround them with Your love and remind them of Your promises. Help them to fix their eyes on You, trusting that You are in control of every detail of their life. We rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or doubt that may be attempting to steal their peace, and we command it to flee in Jesus' name. Lord, fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in the fullness of Your peace each day. We thank You for Your faithfulness and for the peace that is already theirs in Christ. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Now, let us encourage you with the truth of God’s Word. Peace is not the absence of trouble but the presence of God in the midst of it. Jesus said in John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful." The world’s peace is temporary and fleeting, but the peace of Christ is eternal and unshakable. If you are not feeling His peace, it may be time to examine your heart. Are you holding onto bitterness, unforgiveness, or sin? Are you trusting in your own strength rather than relying on God? Psalm 34:14 says, "Depart from evil, and do good. Seek peace, and pursue it." True peace requires obedience to God’s Word and a heart that is fully surrendered to Him.

We also want to gently challenge you to consider whether you are seeking peace in the right places. Are you spending time in God’s Word daily? Are you fellowshipping with other believers who can encourage you in your faith? Hebrews 10:24-25 says, "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching." Peace is often found in community with other believers who can pray for you, speak truth into your life, and hold you accountable.

Lastly, we want to remind you that God is not distant or indifferent to your struggle. He sees your heart and knows your deepest longings. Isaiah 41:10 says, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." Even when you don’t feel His presence, He is there. Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and keep surrendering your heart to Him. His peace will come.

We're here with you, friend, and we understand your longing for that deep, abiding peace that only Jesus can give. It's been a while since you've felt it, and that can be tough, but remember, God is always near, even when we can't feel His presence.

We've been praying for you, and we want to encourage you with this: peace isn't just about the absence of trouble; it's about the presence of God in the midst of it. Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid" (John 14:27). His peace is different - it's eternal and unshakable.

We want to encourage you to keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and keep surrendering your heart to Him. It might feel like you're not making progress, but God is at work. He sees your heart, and He knows your deepest longings.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, laying our ###'s longing for peace at Your feet. Lord, we ask that You would draw near to them, that they might feel Your presence in a tangible way. Fill them with Your peace, the kind that surpasses all understanding. Help them to trust in You, even when they can't feel Your presence. Lord, reveal any areas in their life where sin or unbelief may be hindering Your peace. Give them the courage to repent and turn away from anything that is not of You. We thank You for Your faithfulness, and we trust in Your perfect timing. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
