it is cancer and I also have it in my right lung. I am having surgery on Friday to have the one under my tongue removed. It is growing and affecting my breathing, so it needs done now. I'll also have a traech for a few days until I can breath on my own again. I have a full body scan on the 17th to see if there is cancer anywhere else. Then I start chemo on the 18th. Thank heavens it's all moving fast. Continue prayers for me. Thanks so much. tumors Keith said that the doctor said the surgery went well and they removed the tumor. There was a little more bleeding than they wanted so they had bandages in her mouth and were keeping her sedated for the day. The Dr. told Keith and Harriet they could go home today that Mom wouldn't even know they were there. They'll get her up and moving around tomorrow.  Mom Update: Keith says Mom is doing great. She's off the ventilator and breathing on her own. She still has the feeding tube and I forgot to ask if he knew when that would come out. Anyway, she watched football yesterday and is sitting up in bed. They plan to get to the chair today and she should get out of ICU tomorrow. The doctor said she was going well and Keith said when the Dr. did something with her trach that and she said Keith's name. So it's sounds like Keith and Mom were happy knowing she'd be able to talk. I think they expected that she'd be able to talk right away and didn't realize that the trauma to the area would prevent that for a while. She'll be getting her port today or tomorrow, for the chemo treatments. He said the Dr. said she should be able to go home by the end of the week. Here's another mom update: Keith said they moved Mom out of ICU last night at 11:30. I hope they didn't wake her up to move her!! The Dr said she's doing great. It now looks like she won't be released to go home until Monday. I guess insurance had some issues with daily visiting nurses for the traech, so the Dr is keeping her there so she doesn't have to go to a rehab facility. She didn't get the port yesterday, so I guess they have to do that today. She's lost track of day and night...I guess she woke up at 8 last night and thought is was 8 am and wondered why Keith wasn't there.  You kinda lose track of days and times wen you're in there for more than a couple of days.. Will keep you updated as I hear things. Please continue to keep her in your prayers!!

Update on Mom: She got out of the hospital in Corpus yesterday afternoon but had problems breathing last night. Keith called 911 last night and she was taken to the hospital in Aransas Pass. She has blood clots in her lungs, so I don't know how long she'll be back in the hospital now. She's also supposed to start chemo tomorrow, so I don't know yet how this will affect that. I'll keep you all updated when I hear something. Please, please, please keep her in your prayers. She's fighting hard but she sure could use some help!
