Is this still a good deed?

We're supposed to offer help to others. But there's a certain circumstance I can think of, that I myself have been in, that raised a question for me. Like, if we're helping the other with the intent of improving something for us. Examples, one lady I brought to her beauty parlor, she came out and said she forgot her checkbook, to pay at the reception, and that she would have to stop back home to get it, then come back to the beauty parlor to pay. But she also had another stop, and I was already borderline late for my next appointment, and even had other appointments after that. So I suggested to put up the money for the time, BUT, (although I've done things like that upon being asked before), you could say why I volunteered to do it was because it helped my cause, too, to save time. I've also had that with other things, helping someone because it helped my situation. I've also helped others without any goal for me, but the question is, if you're helping someone with intent that it's helping you, is that sin, or makes you a "bad person?" I mean, I've also helped others with nothing pending for me....

Yes, I agree with Gemmah, the best way is to follow the Holy Spirit's leading, what does it seem good now to do? When you do something against your will, you will snap later because of that, you will have grudges towards the other person, so you will know that it was not the Holy Spirit...doing something without conviction that it is good for this particular time is a sin because it may affect you negatively and the other person....I never asked you, do you recognize the leading of the Holy Spirit, if so, there is no problem.....everybody can make a mistake, but the other time you will be wiser, right?

Bad person? There is a scripture that says: THERE IS NO CONDEMNATION TO THOSE WHO ARE IN CHRIST JESUS. You are in Christ Jesus, so you cannot be accused by anyone, even yourself....great, right?

God has not only forgiven you your sins but also forgotten them. Erased them!! They are completely gone. So in His eyes, you can never again be bad because you are a NEW CREATURE IN CHRIST JESUS. Read Romans. It is for the revelation of our righteousness.

No, I didn't do it with resentment. I'm the one who volunteered it. And I would've, and have, done things like that without anything "in it" for me. But I was wondering whether doing the good deed with the intent of helping my own situation at the time kind of takes away from it?

No it doesn't take away, it is only a blessing from God to you. Consider it as a gift that things are falling in line. Like a favor. Only be thankful for that. Don't have any guilt or don't demand of yourself that you must be perfect. Read Romans, I think it may help you. But ask God before you read for the spirit of wisdom and revelation about the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD in Christ Jesus.

Maybe your problem is also wanting to have everything in control, or to be perfect I don't know, ask God....it sounds complicated when you ask that question. God is very simple.

On the other hand, when you want things perfect what is your motive? Maybe you want to have bonus with God because you have done it RIGHT? You have bonuses already with God, don't worry...Jesus gave His life for you! You don't have to do anything perfect, following the Holy Spirit is the only perfect thing you can do. I would even dare to say there is no RIGHT OR WRONG thing to do. Only what is BEST in your situation. If you would do it anyway, because this suits only to the other person then you have pure motives...As we grow and evolve in the spirit and love we would be better and better and stop accusing others and even ourselves for the things we or them have done. I would like so much to evolve in this direction. I believe you to....

My husband needs prayer. He still wants a divorce. I do not. I don't understand I've asked God over and over and over again to let me know. I want to know he's not communicating with me. So I'm asking God who communicates with us all. But I'm not understanding God apparently why my husband is so...

A while back I explained a situation with my friend and asked for prayer. To recap: I was very sick with a COPD flare-up, and the prednisone was hitting me hard. I suffered from insomnia, agitation and hyper-anxiety. My schedule was mega-stressful, non-stop doctor's appointments including...
