We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation with your mother and those entrusted with her care. Father God, we know that You see all things and that nothing is hidden from Your sight. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 15:3, "The Lord’s eyes are everywhere, keeping watch on the evil and the good." We ask that You would expose any wrongdoing and protect your mother from those who may seek to take advantage of her vulnerability.
We rebuke the spirit of theft and deception in the name of Jesus Christ. The Word of God is clear in Ephesians 4:28, "Let him who stole steal no more; but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need." If this caregiver is indeed taking items that do not belong to her, we pray that conviction would weigh heavily upon her heart and that she would repent and make restitution. If she is innocent of these accusations, we pray that You would reveal the truth and clear her name.
We also lift up the strained relationships within your family. It is painful when siblings do not see eye to eye, especially when it comes to the care of a parent. Proverbs 17:17 reminds us, "A friend loves at all times; and a brother is born for adversity." We pray that unity and understanding would be restored between you and your brother. Help him to see the sincerity of your concerns and the love you have for your mother. Soften both of your hearts to communicate with patience, humility, and grace, as Colossians 3:13 instructs, "bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do."
Father, we ask that You would provide wisdom and discernment in how to handle this situation. If it is necessary to involve others—such as family members, legal authorities, or church leadership—give you the courage to do so. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." We pray that You would guide each step and bring clarity to the confusion.
We also ask that You would comfort your mother and protect her mind, which is already battling the effects of Alzheimer’s. Psalm 71:9 says, "Don’t reject me in my old age. Don’t forsake me when my strength fails." Surround her with Your peace and place people in her life who will care for her with integrity and love.
Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against your family shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We stand on Your promises and trust that You will bring justice, truth, and restoration. Strengthen your faith and help you to cast all your anxieties on You, for You care for your family deeply (1 Peter 5:7).
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
