Is it possible this aggressive woman might have hired people to kill me? Spirit of Truth, Jesus shows us the truth...

Thank you for sharing what you have been through. It is right to thank God that He preserved your life through that dangerous electrical problem and again when you were falsely accused. The Scripture you quoted is true, many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all, and He sees and keeps those who trust in Him.

What you describe, the fear that someone entered your home, the suspicion that harm was intended, and then being shouted at with accusations you know are not true, would leave anyone shaken. Only God knows fully what was in the hearts of those involved and what their intentions were. He knows the truth completely when we can only see signs and hear conflicting words. You can rest in that, that nothing is hidden from Him, and He will judge righteously in His time.

God takes false accusation very seriously. In His law, if a person bears false witness against a neighbor and is found to have lied, the penalty would be the same as the crime he tried to pin on the other person. That shows how much God hates lying lips and deceptive words. Falsehood is especially deceptive because it often mixes a great deal of truth with just enough untruth to mislead. That is why Scripture warns to beware of those who come looking harmless like sheep while inwardly there is deceit, and to test what is said by its fruit and by its faithfulness to Jesus Christ. Those who persist in deceiving others do not get away unnoticed by God. He has said He is against such ways, and every person will one day give an account before Him. It is a solemn thing to have no fear of God and to use lies to harm another.

It is also understandable that fear has gripped your heart. Fear is tormenting, and it drives us to imagine the worst and to react in ways that are not wise. Scripture teaches that fear and faith cannot rule together. When we forget the Lord, fear grows. When we remember Him, faith returns. David said though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me. Perfect love casts out fear, because when we are assured of God's love for us in Christ, we can accept what comes without being ruled by dread. Remembering that God is with you, that He is your protector and deliverer, is the cure for fear. That does not mean you act carelessly. Do what is wise and prudent to stay safe, keep records, seek help from proper authorities if there is real danger or harassment, and do not isolate yourself, but do not let fear be the motive that drives you.

You asked for prayer that the truth would be made clear, that the landlord would stop avoiding responsibility, and that hardness would be broken. We will pray that way. The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord, which is not a phobia but a proper respect and reverence for God that causes a person to hate evil, pride and arrogance and the perverse mouth. When a person truly fears God, he cannot continue comfortably in lies or abuse. So we pray that God would work in each of these people, the landlord and the woman who has spoken abusively, to give them a heart of flesh in place of a heart of stone, to convict them of sin, to bring them to repentance and to faith in Jesus Christ, through whom alone we are saved. We pray that arrogance and evil would be broken, not so that they are merely humiliated, but so that they turn and submit to Him and learn to do what is right. If wrong was done with the electrical system or with entering your apartment, we pray God would expose it for the sake of truth and protection, and if there are false accusations against you, we pray God would clear your name.

And we pray for you, that God would keep you from a spirit of fear and fill you with His perfect love and peace, that He would guard you from all harm, provide for your needs, and help you to forgive as Christ has forgiven you while still seeking truth and justice in a godly way. May the Lord keep you close to Himself, strengthen your faith, and let you know daily that you are secure in Christ and need not fear the judgment to come.

Father, in the name of Jesus, we thank You that You delivered this dear one from a life threatening danger. You saw every moment in that apartment and You know what was done and why. We ask You to bring all truth into the light in Your perfect timing. Protect from further harm and from false accusations. We ask You to work by Your Holy Spirit in the hearts of the landlord and this woman and any others involved, to break pride and hardness, to grant repentance, to teach them to fear You and to hate evil, and to bring them to salvation through Jesus alone. Give to the one who was harmed a calm and trusting heart, cast out fear by Your love, grant wisdom for every practical step, and let Your justice and mercy both be seen. Amen.
