Is bad parenting a sin?

In the Bible we read,"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he gets old he will not depart from it." Also,"Spare the rod, spoil the child".Yet what I see in the attitude of parents nowadays is just the opposite--in a public place, one where people want to relax and have peace and quiet,I see them running wild through the aisles, jumping, screaming, wrestling with each other..all in front of, and getting in the way of, others.{Not to mention that screaming, which, when done continually, is maddening.{I'm talking about INDOOR places, with limited room.} {They also get in the way when adults are trying to walk.}Meanwhile ,the parents just ignore it all,and from hearing the viewpoints of people like that,I know their attitude--"who cares what others think? They're just strangers, you won't see them anymore, so who cares?"So I think the sin here might be selfishness looking out for "your own", but not caring about others. But compared it to the Biblical statements, like."train up a child in the way he should go,"NOT teach them that others are not important, would you say bad parenting--especially when done with selfish intent--is a sin,a sign of the fallen nature?I would say so.

It is not a sin per say- that the Bible does not tell us this:

But it does give instructions on what we should do. And the "reward"either way. When we fail to do what the WORD says we have a wayward child that will bring us sorrow and grief. And even when we do what the Bible says with our children, even then they can grow up evil.

So we reap rewards from our actions: But there is a warning from Jesus about a millstone being hanged around our necks when we offend one of his little ones: This is adults and children both who are spiritually as children as we have been commanded to be.

Matthew 18:

3 And said, Uerily I say vnto you, Except yee be conuerted, and become as little children, yee shall not enter into the kingdome of heauen.

4 Whosoeuer therefore shall humble himselfe as this little childe, the same is greatest in the Kingdome of heauen.

5 And who so shall receiue one such little child in my name, receiueth me.

6 But who so shall offend one of these little ones which beleeue in me, it were better for him that a milstone were hanged about his necke, and that hee were drowned in the depth of the Sea.

7 ¶ Woe vnto the world because of offences: for it must needs be that offences come: but wo to that man by whom the offence commeth.

But, I would say that anyone who does not do as the Bible instructs us in all things: Does not love Jesus, nor God, nor the Holy Spirit.

It says we should have childlike faith, I don't think it refers to the parents should have a selfish attitude and let the kids run roughshod and let them disrespect others and grow up thinking there's nothing wrong with it.Just look at the parents of years ago who taught the kids respect compared to nowadays when the parents are "lax" about it.I blame the parents more.

If bad means against the word of God it is a serious sin.

Bad parenting comes because of unexperience, lack of knowledge on how to raise a child. Most young people do not take courses in college or university on parenting the perfect way. Churches do not teach or preach how to raise children for the glory of God. My hopè and prayer before the Lord is this. Teach us o Lord to raise our children in the fear of God and to make sure they are on their way to heaven.
