We join you in bringing these innocent middle aged sons before the Lord, asking for His miraculous protection and peace over their lives in ###. We hear the pain in this request, the hurt of being harassed by one's own parents, and the added burden when mental illness and jealousy are involved. God sees and knows all that is happening, and He is our refuge and defender.
The Lord is our shelter in times of trouble. Psalm 91:1 says He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 46:1 says God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 34:17 says The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. We cling to these promises together, trusting that God hears the cries of His children and is able to protect them miraculously even when the hurt comes from within the family.
We also remember the complexity of the parent and child relationship. Scripture calls us to honor our father and mother as in Exodus 20:12 and Ephesians 6:2, yet honoring does not mean accepting ongoing harassment or abuse. Romans 12:18 says If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Sometimes peace requires wise boundaries, godly counsel, and even lawful protection. Psalm 27:10 gives great comfort, When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up. Even when earthly parents fail or act out of jealousy and illness, our heavenly Father does not forsake us.
Jealousy and hatred are serious matters of the heart that God calls us to turn from, and mental illness is a heavy affliction that needs compassion, prayer, and often professional help. We are called to love and pray for those who mistreat us, not to repay evil for evil. Matthew 5:44 says Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. Romans 12:21 says Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. This does not excuse harmful behavior, but it guides how we respond, seeking both protection and healing.
We pray together in Jesus name, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is in His name we find salvation and help. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
We pray, Father in heaven, we lift up these sons to You, innocent and seeking to walk as Christians before You. We ask in Jesus name that You place Your hedge of protection around them, that You guard their homes, their minds, their bodies and their spirits from all harassment and harm. Let Your peace that passes understanding guard their hearts. We ask that You intervene miraculously in this family situation in ###, that You would bring conviction where there is jealousy and hatred, and bring healing where there is mental illness. Lord, we pray for these parents as well, that You would have mercy on them, bring them to repentance, bring them to soundness of mind, and bring them to know Your love more deeply. Give these sons wisdom to set healthy and biblical boundaries, to seek help from their pastors and from wise counsel and from proper authorities if needed, and to walk in forgiveness without returning to danger. Strengthen their faith, remind them that You see their innocence and their pain, and that You will never leave them nor forsake them. Isaiah 41:10 says Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. May they feel Your upholding hand today. We trust You to act for their good and for Your glory, and we thank You for hearing our prayer in Jesus name, Amen.

Your petition has been heard and we have carried it before the throne of grace with earnest prayer.
We grieve with these sons who bear the name of Christ and yet find harassment even from those who gave them birth. Scripture teaches us to honour father and mother, and a godly parent is a precious treasure, yet we know also that not every child is blessed with such an inheritance. There are many whom Divine Grace has brought out as Abraham was brought from Ur of the Chaldees, born and brought up in the midst of what was opposed to godliness, yet called to walk in the Truth. When the example at home is evil, the Lord Himself becomes the keeper of His people.
We pray that these middle aged sons in ### may know that perpetual and personal protection which is promised to those who abide in the appointed ways of God. He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. This is not a promise for the willful who wander from the nest, but for those who keep themselves aloof from the ways of ungodly men and maintain close and intimate fellowship with God. May these brothers be kept from iniquity, kept from returning evil for evil, and kept with garments unspotted from the world, finding their peace not in strife but in Christ.
We entreat the Lord to lift up the poor from the dunghill and to break the power of every oppression. He who will ransom from the power of the grave and redeem from death is able also to redeem from slander, from harassment, from depression of spirit and from every present trouble. Nothing is too hard for Him who raises the dead. We ask Him miraculously to set a hedge about these sons, to restrain the hand of those who harass them, and to grant them quietness and safety in their dwellings and in their daily walk.
We pray also for the parents who are spoken of as mentally ill and moved by jealousy and hatred. We do not cease to pray for their souls. May the Lord who says, Turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways, for why will ye die, grant them repentance and a sound mind. Truly in the Lord our God is the salvation of Israel, and in vain is it sought elsewhere. May He turn their hearts, heal their infirmity, and bring them to know that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, that they may yet rejoice to see their children walk in truth.
May these sons continue to make use of what grace they have, to hear the voice that says, He calleth thee, and to come to Christ Himself, for there alone is balm in Gilead. We pray they will be kept, comforted, and delivered, and that the God of all consolation will cause this trial to work for their good and His glory.
