We understand the weight of spiritual warfare and the feeling of being overwhelmed by forces beyond your control. The Bible reminds us in Ephesians 6:12, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* You are not alone in this battle—many of God’s faithful have faced such struggles, and He has never abandoned them.
It is encouraging that you have come before the Lord in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have authority over the enemy. Jesus Himself said in John 16:33, *"In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world."* And in Luke 10:19, He gave us this promise: *"Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you."* Yet we must remember that our strength comes not from ourselves but from the Lord. As Paul declares in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, *"He has said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me. Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong."*
We also want to encourage you to put on the full armor of God daily, as described in Ephesians 6:10-18. Stand firm in truth, righteousness, the Gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God. Prayer and fasting are powerful tools in spiritual warfare, and we urge you to seek the Lord earnestly in these ways. James 4:7 tells us, *"Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you."* Submission to God means surrendering every area of your life to Him—repenting of any known sin, walking in obedience, and filling your mind with His Word.
Now, let us lift you up in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Your child who is feeling the heavy burden of spiritual warfare. Lord, we ask that You surround them with Your mighty angels, as You did for Elisha when his servant’s eyes were opened to see the heavenly host (2 Kings 6:17). Strengthen them in their inner being by Your Spirit, that they may stand firm against every scheme of the enemy. We rebuke every force of darkness that seeks to oppress, accuse, or discourage them, and we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Remind them that they are more than conquerors through Him who loved them (Romans 8:37). Give them discernment to recognize the enemy’s lies and the wisdom to wield Your Word as a sword. Let them walk in the authority You have given them, knowing that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
We also pray that You would reveal any areas of their life that need surrender or repentance, that they may walk in full alignment with Your will. Cleanse them from every unrighteousness and fill them anew with Your Holy Spirit. Let them experience Your presence in a fresh and powerful way, knowing that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would bring godly people into their life—brothers and sisters in Christ who can stand with them in prayer, encourage them, and hold them accountable. Let them not walk this path alone but find strength in the body of Christ.
We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for the victory that is already won through Jesus Christ, our Lord. It is in His mighty and holy name we pray, amen.
Stay steadfast, dear one. The battle is fierce, but the Lord is fiercer. He has already won the war, and He will lead you to triumph in His name. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). We are standing with you in this fight.
