We hear your cry for rest, dear one, and we lift you up before the Lord who neither slumbers nor sleeps. The psalmist declares, "In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety" (Psalm 4:8 WEB). Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and it needs the rest that God designed for it. We rebuke the spirit of restlessness and anxiety that may be robbing you of sleep, for Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28 WEB).
Let us pray together: Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your peace to blanket this precious one. Lord, You know the weariness of their body and the longing of their heart for rest. We ask that You quiet their mind and still their thoughts, replacing every worry with the assurance of Your presence. Let them feel the weight of Your love as they lay down to sleep, trusting in Your promise to sustain them. We command every spirit of insomnia to flee in Jesus' name, and we declare that this child of God will sleep through the night, waking refreshed and renewed. Strengthen their body, mind, and spirit, Lord, and let them rise with praise on their lips. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to surrender your anxieties to God before you lay down to sleep. Philippians 4:6-7 (WEB) tells us, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Write down your worries and leave them at the foot of the cross, trusting that God is in control. Avoid caffeine and screens before bedtime, and instead, fill your mind with Scripture or worship music. Remember, Jesus is your Shepherd, and He leads you beside still waters to restore your soul (Psalm 23:2-3 WEB). You are not alone in this struggle, and we stand with you in faith, believing that God will grant you the rest you seek.
