We hear your earnest cry, lifting up your heart to seek the Lord’s voice with the same fervor as David, who inquired of Him and received clear direction. How beautiful it is to see your hunger to walk in obedience, trusting that His sheep *do* hear His voice and will not follow the deceptions of the enemy. You stand on solid ground, beloved, for the Lord delights in those who seek Him with all their heart, promising that those who diligently seek Him *will* find Him (Jeremiah 29:13).
Yet we must also address the weight of your plea with sober truth: the enemy prowls like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8), and his schemes are relentless against those who press into intimacy with Christ. The battle you describe is not merely spiritual—it is *real*, and the adversary will use every tactic to sow doubt, distraction, or despair. But take heart! The same Holy Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead dwells within you (Romans 8:11), and greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We stand with you in this fight, wielding the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17), and pleading the blood of Jesus over every lie that seeks to steal your confidence in His voice.
We rebuke the spirit of confusion and unbelief that would whisper, *"Did God really say?"* or *"Why hasn’t He answered yet?"* The Lord is not slow concerning His promises (2 Peter 3:9), and His delays are not denials. Every "no" or "wait" is a protection, a redirection, or a preparation for something far greater than you could ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). But we must also examine our hearts: Are we seeking His will *above* our own desires? Are we surrendering every fear, every agenda, and every outcome to Him? The psalmist declares, *"Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart"* (Psalm 37:4)—but only when our delight is *in Him*, not in what we want from Him.
Now, to the matter of your request for prayer over *her* faith and yours. We rejoice in your desire to strengthen one another, but we must ask: What is the nature of this relationship? If this is a courtship or a godly friendship between believers, we praise God for the mutual edification. But if this is an ungodly yoke—whether emotional, physical, or spiritual—we must sound the alarm. The Lord commands us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14), for what fellowship has light with darkness? If this relationship is leading you into compromise, we must repent and realign with God’s design for purity and holiness. Marriage is a sacred covenant between *one man and one woman* (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6), and any union outside of this is an abomination in His sight. If there is fornication, adultery, or any sexual immorality, we must flee from it (1 Corinthians 6:18) and seek restoration through confession and repentance (1 John 1:9).
If, however, this is a godly pursuit of marriage, we pray fervently for wisdom and clarity. May the Lord grant you both the grace to hear His voice *together*, to submit to one another in reverence for Christ (Ephesians 5:21), and to build your union on the Rock, not shifting sand. May your prayers be united in purpose, your hearts knit in love, and your steps ordered by the Holy Spirit. And if the Lord has not joined you, may He make the path clear to part ways with peace, trusting that His plans for you are for good and not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11).
We also lift up your plea for the church to stand with you in resisting the devil. Yes, beloved, the gates of hell *will not* prevail against Christ’s church (Matthew 16:18), and we take up this authority in His name! We bind every spirit of division, distraction, and deception that would hinder your hearing from the Lord. We loose the spirit of wisdom, revelation, and power to flood your life, that you may know the hope of His calling and the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints (Ephesians 1:17-19). We declare that your ears are *tuned* to the Shepherd’s voice, and your feet are *shod* with the readiness of the gospel of peace (Ephesians 6:15).
And now, we pray:
*"Father in Heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the Name above every name, the only Name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You for the privilege of approaching Your throne of grace with boldness, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16). Lord, we stand in agreement with our brother/sister, declaring that You are faithful to answer when we call (Psalm 145:18).*
*We ask that You would silence every voice that is not Yours. Let the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, guide our brother/sister into all truth (John 16:13), and let no weapon formed against them prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Strengthen them with power through Your Spirit in their inner being, that Christ may dwell in their heart through faith (Ephesians 3:16-17). May they be rooted and grounded in love, able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth, length, height, and depth of Your love—surpassing all knowledge (Ephesians 3:18-19).*
*Lord, we pray for their relationship—whether it is a godly courtship or a friendship in Christ. If it is Your will for them to be united in marriage, prepare them both as a holy bride and a loving husband, submitted to You and to one another. If it is not Your will, give them the grace to walk away without bitterness or regret, trusting in Your perfect plan. Guard their hearts from impurity, and let them flee from every temptation that would lead them into sin. May their love for You surpass all other affections, and may their obedience to Your Word be their highest priority.*
*We resist the devil and all his schemes, declaring that he must flee (James 4:7). We break every assignment of the enemy against their hearing, their faith, and their future. We loose the angels of God to encamp around them and protect them from every evil work (Psalm 34:7). We declare that their prayers avail much (James 5:16), and that the effective, fervent prayer of the righteous accomplishes much (James 5:16).*
*Fill them afresh with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). May they be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger (James 1:19), and may their lives be a fragrant offering to You (Ephesians 5:2).*
*We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Savior, and coming King. Amen!"*
Beloved, do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you *will* reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). The Lord is your Shepherd—you shall not want. He makes you lie down in green pastures, He leads you beside still waters, He restores your soul (Psalm 23:1-3). Even when the path seems unclear, trust that He is leading you. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and run with endurance the race set before you. The victory is already won!
