Beloved of All
Injuries turned arthritic and now much unbearable pain years later, praying justice and healing on these afflictions Jesus, amen

We join with you in bringing this long suffering before the Lord, for we know He sees the pain that has lingered for years after these injuries and now has turned to arthritic affliction. It is wearying to carry unbearable pain day after day, and we do not take lightly what you have endured. We thank you for calling upon the name of Jesus, for it is through Him alone we have access to the Father and find healing and hope.

The Lord understands affliction and He is near to those who suffer. Psalm 34:18 tells us Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. We are reminded that our bodies groan in this fallen world, yet God has not forgotten us, and He is still the Lord who heals you as He declares in Exodus 15:26.

Scripture shows us that healing is part of His compassionate character. Jeremiah 30:17 says But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. Isaiah 53:5 teaches us But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him and by his wounds we are healed. We cling to these promises not as a formula, but as the revelation of His loving will toward His children.

We also hear your cry for justice, and we bring that before Him as well. If these injuries came through the wrongdoing or neglect of others, it is right to desire righteousness to be upheld. Psalm 103:6 says Yahweh executes righteous acts, and justice for all who are oppressed. At the same time we are called to release vengeance into His perfect hands, for Romans 12:19 says Vengeance belongs to me I will repay, says the Lord. We can trust Him to be both just and merciful, to right what is wrong in His time and His way, and we encourage you not to let bitterness take root while you wait, but to rest in the Judge of all the earth who does right.

We want to encourage you to continue to seek both spiritual and practical help. James 5:14-15 calls us to pray for the sick and to seek the prayer of faith, and the Lord also works through the wisdom He has given to physicians and treatments. Do not hesitate to pursue godly medical care for arthritis and chronic pain while you continue to seek Him for healing, for every good gift comes from His hand.

We now pray together for you.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one to Your throne of grace. You have seen every injury, every sleepless night, every moment when the pain has felt unbearable, and You have collected every tear. We ask in Jesus name that You would lay Your healing hand upon this body. Ease the inflammation and stiffness, calm the nerves that cry out with pain, and restore what has been damaged. We pray for relief that allows for rest and for daily life to be lived with strength again. As You promise in Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest, grant this rest to our friend. If there is injustice that has not been answered, we ask that You would bring Your justice and Your peace, and that You would guard this heart from despair or anger. Give wisdom to doctors and caregivers, give endurance and hope that looks to the eternal promise in Revelation 21:4 that He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more, neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. Sustain faith through this trial, and let Your strength be made perfect in weakness as You have said in 2 Corinthians 12:9. We ask all this in the mighty and healing name of Jesus, amen.

We have been thinking about your request and how long you have carried this pain. When an old injury turns into daily arthritis and the pain feels unbearable years later, it is understandable to cry out for both healing and for what is right, and we are grateful you brought that honestly to Jesus.

Living with pain for years does more than hurt the body. It can wear down sleep, mood, hope, and make ordinary days feel much heavier. It can be discouraging when progress feels slow and relief feels far off. If you are feeling that weight, you are not alone in it, and God sees the endurance this has required of you. We are praying you would know His nearness on the hard days and have steady support around you.

Alongside prayer, if you have not already, we encourage you to let a trusted doctor know how severe and ongoing the pain has become, so you do not have to carry it without care and support. It can also help to let one person close to you, a pastor or a trusted friend, know how you are really doing day to day, so prayer and practical help can continue over time.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus name. You know the injuries, the years of pain, and the longing for relief and for justice. Please bring Your comfort and nearness, give wisdom to those providing care, and lead step by step toward healing and peace according to Your will. Sustain our friend with strength for each day and hope in Your faithful love. In Jesus name, amen.

Years of pain that settles into the joints and makes the body weary is a sore trial, and your prayer for justice and healing is heard before the Lord.

We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they are too painful to let us slumber in silence, and they soon urge us to seek a physician for healing. Do not neglect the help which Providence provides through the skill of physicians, yet look higher still to the great Physician Himself. Calvary is the place for the healing balm, and there is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the very leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue.

Scripture places healing and pardon in happy conjunction. When the Sun of Righteousness rises upon His people there is healing in His wings, and when Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He first said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you. Pardon and healing were one. So we must see that He is great in justice and bow in penitence and honor that justice, and then see the greatness of His love in giving His Son to die that He might justly forgive us. Whatever wrong or injury first brought this affliction, know that the Lord is unimpeachable in His justice, and He will do right. Vengeance belongs to Him, and He both sees and will judge with perfect righteousness, while His mercy flows freely to all who come to Christ for pardon.

These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before, and there is healing in the very touch of Christ, for He took her by the hand and lifted her up. There was a contact established, and in His incarnation and His wounds provision is made for soul and body.

We pray for you now, that the Lord who heals the broken heart and binds up wounds would look upon your long affliction. O Lord Jesus, great Physician, Thou seest this suffering frame and the unbearable pain endured through years. Lay Thy hand upon this afflicted one and grant relief as it pleases Thy wisdom. If it be Thy will, restore ease to these joints and strength to these limbs. Grant patience in suffering, and let this trial drive the soul nearer to Thyself. Forgive sin, heal disease, and let pardon and healing come together from Thy pierced hands. Sustain through each painful day and keep the heart trusting in Thy justice and Thy love, till Thou shalt make all things new. Amen.
