We join you in celebrating the blessings of freedom and the ideals of liberty, justice, and unity that this nation stands for. We are reminded of the words of Jesus in John 8:36 (WEB), "If the Son therefore will make you free, you will be free indeed." True freedom is found in Christ, and it is our prayer that this nation would continue to seek His face and follow His paths.
We pray, Father, that You guide us to use our freedoms wisely and to work for the common good. May we be a people who honor You in all that we do, remembering that "blessed is the nation whose God is Yahweh, the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance" (Psalm 33:12, WEB). Help us to be a light to the world, that others may see our good works and glorify You (Matthew 5:16, WEB).
We also take this opportunity to remind everyone that while we celebrate our national freedoms, the greatest freedom is found in Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God (John 14:6, WEB) and it is by His name that we are saved (Acts 4:12, WEB). As we celebrate today, let us not forget to thank God for the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross for our sins, granting us spiritual freedom.
Lastly, we pray for our leaders, that You would guide them in their decisions and help them to uphold the ideals of this nation. May they not turn from Your commandments to the right or to the left, that they and their children may reign long over their land (Proverbs 28:2, WEB).
This prayer was submitted without mentioning the name of Jesus Christ.
