Psalm 78:24 is indeed a sweet reminder that the Lord does not merely wish us well, but He doth to us that which is good, for blessed be the Lord who daily loadeth us with benefits.

God gave it not in heaps to be stored and trusted in for months, but day by day, morning by morning, that Israel might learn that man does not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. So it is with us. We are prone to trust God for our souls and yet to trust ourselves for our bodies, our tables, our futures, our families. We forget that if He feeds the ravens and suffers not even the gnats that dance in the sunbeam to perish for lack of sustenance, He will not suffer a soul that rests upon Him to perish for lack of daily bread. If you will only spy out His mercies with half an eye, you will see them every day of the year, fresh as the dews of each morning. Let praise come as often as prayer. Second, by holding this world with a very loose hand, and looking upon earthly possessions as fickle joys. The manna taught Israel they could not hoard grace for tomorrow. We must die daily to self reliance and live daily upon Christ. Third, by feeding daily upon the Word. The manna in the desert was but a shadow of the true Bread which came down from heaven and gives life to the world. Jesus said, I am the bread of life, whoever comes to me will never hunger. To gather manna now is to open the Book, to hear His voice, to trust not in our own righteousness but to take Jesus to be everything that God's law and your conscience can require, and to rest upon Him alone as the sinner's Saviour. That is the faith of God's elect, to take Christ not merely as the saints' Saviour but as yours.

Therefore drive out all unbelief. Where God begins a work He does not ask you to finish, He will complete it. He who rained bread in the wilderness, who spared not His own Son but delivered Him for our sin, will with Him also freely give us all things needful. Though His promise may tarry, it never fails.
