We are truly grateful to hear that you have converted to Christianity and are seeking to live your life according to biblical principles. It is only by the name of Jesus that we are saved and have access to God. As it is written:
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12, WEB).
Firstly, we want to address your relationship with the Christian young man you have been seeing. It is commendable that you want to be open and honest with him about your background. As followers of Christ, we are called to live in truth and integrity.
“Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective” (James 5:16, WEB).
However, we want to remind you that as a Christian, you should be seeking a marital relationship that honors God. You have mentioned that you are planning to take things more seriously, and we encourage you to do so in a way that aligns with biblical principles. This means that any romantic relationship should be directed towards marriage, and sexual purity should be maintained until then.
“But because of the potential for sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman should have her own husband” (1 Corinthians 7:2, WEB).
Regarding your concern about confessing your background to him, we encourage you to seek God’s wisdom and guidance. It is important to trust that God will give you the words to say and the strength to say them.
“Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB).
Moving on to your second request, we are delighted to hear about the opportunity for you to move to the UK to pursue your PhD. We trust that God, who has opened this door for you, will also provide for your needs.
“But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well” (Matthew 6:33, WEB).
We join you in prayer for timely provision and for God’s will to be done in your life.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister in Christ who has blessed us with her prayer requests. We thank You for her life and for the work You are doing in her. We ask that You give her the wisdom and courage to share her background with the young man she has been seeing. Guide their relationship, Lord, and help them to honor You in all they do.
We also pray for Your provision in her life, Father. We ask that You provide for her financial needs as she prepares to move to the UK. We trust that You will supply all her needs according to Your riches in glory.
We ask all these things in Jesus.
