In the name of Jesus pray for ### to come to a place of peace with her husband ###. She is abusive towards him and won’t have him in the home that is actually his. Please pray that mercy and compassion fill her heart and greed for money leaves her heart and spirit.

We lift up this marriage before the Lord, knowing that God hates divorce and desires reconciliation, unity, and peace between a husband and wife. The enemy seeks to destroy marriages, but we stand in the authority of Jesus Christ to rebuke the spirit of division, greed, and abuse that has taken root in this situation. The Word of God is clear about the roles and responsibilities within marriage, and we must address the brokenness here with both truth and grace.

To the wife in this situation, we must lovingly but firmly speak the truth: the behavior described—abuse, withholding love, and greed—is not aligned with Scripture. The Bible calls wives to submit to their husbands as to the Lord, just as the church submits to Christ (Ephesians 5:22-24). This submission is not about control or inferiority but about honoring the order God has established for the family. Likewise, husbands are commanded to love their wives as Christ loved the church, sacrificially and selflessly (Ephesians 5:25-29). Abuse in any form—whether physical, emotional, or financial—is sinful and has no place in a marriage that honors God. Greed, too, is a serious sin that the Bible warns against, for it chokes out faith and leads to destruction (1 Timothy 6:10, Luke 12:15). The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and it must be repented of and cast out in Jesus’ name.

We also recognize that this husband is likely experiencing deep pain, rejection, and possibly even fear. To him, we say: the Lord sees your suffering, and He calls you to respond in a way that honors Him. Jesus tells us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). This does not mean tolerating abuse—boundaries are biblical and necessary for safety—but it does mean responding with a heart that seeks God’s will above all else. If you have not already, we urge you to seek godly counsel, whether from your pastor or a biblical counselor, to navigate this situation wisely. The Lord may be calling you to stand firm in faith, to forgive as Christ forgave you, and to trust Him to soften your wife’s heart. Remember, vengeance belongs to the Lord (Romans 12:19), and He is your defender.

For both of them, we declare that God is able to do far more than we can ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). He can break the chains of greed, bitterness, and abuse. He can restore what has been broken and bring peace where there is strife. But this restoration begins with repentance. We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict both hearts—this wife of her sin and this husband of any resentment or unforgiveness he may harbor. Repentance opens the door for God’s healing and redemption.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this marriage that is under attack. Lord, You are the God who heals, restores, and redeems, and we ask You to move powerfully in this situation. We bind the spirits of abuse, greed, division, and bitterness in Jesus’ name, and we command them to leave this home and this marriage. Father, we ask that You would break the hard heart of this wife. Soften her, Lord, and bring her to a place of repentance. Convict her of the sin of abuse, of the greed that has taken root, and of the rejection of her husband. Remind her that You have called her to be a helper to him, not an adversary (Genesis 2:18). Let her see the damage her actions are causing—not just to her husband, but to her own soul and to Your holy name.

Lord, we pray for this husband as well. Strengthen him in this trial, and guard his heart against bitterness or despair. Fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and give him wisdom to know how to respond in a way that honors You. If he has allowed any resentment or unforgiveness to take root, convict him and lead him to repentance as well. Remind him that You are his Provider, his Protector, and his Redeemer. Let him trust in You fully, even in this storm.

Father, we ask for supernatural intervention in this marriage. Where there is abuse, bring healing. Where there is greed, bring generosity. Where there is division, bring unity. Where there is pain, bring Your comfort. Lord, we pray that You would restore this marriage according to Your will. If it is Your desire for them to remain together, then break every stronghold that stands in the way. Let Your love flow between them, and let Your peace rule in their home. But if there is unrepentant sin that makes reconciliation impossible, we pray that You would guide them both into Your truth and provide a path forward that honors You.

We declare that no weapon formed against this marriage will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we trust You to bring beauty from these ashes. Let Your will be done, Lord, and let Your name be glorified in their lives. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

To those reading this, we encourage you to stand firm in prayer for this couple. Marriage is a covenant before God, and it is worth fighting for in prayer. If you are in a similar situation, we urge you to seek godly counsel and to align your heart with Scripture. Do not lose hope—God is in the business of redemption. But remember, redemption begins with repentance. Turn to Him, and He will meet you where you are. Trust in His timing and His ways, for they are perfect.

We join you in lifting this marriage up to the Lord, dear ###. In Jesus' name, we pray for a spirit of peace and understanding to fill your home. May the Lord soften both your and your husband's hearts, drawing you both to repentance and forgiveness. We ask that the Holy Spirit would reveal any bitterness, unforgiveness, or greed in your hearts, and help you both to let go of these things. May the Lord bring healing and restoration to your marriage, according to His will. We trust in His power to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, in Jesus' name. Keep trusting, keep praying, and let's together watch the Lord work in your marriage.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
