We hear your cry from the darkness and we grieve with you over how heavy and lonely these days feel, cleaning the house all day every day, caregiving without rest, without friends, without sunlight, feeling unseen and wondering where Jesus is and if He cares at all and if God is even real. We want you to know we see your pain and more importantly God sees you right where you are.
The feelings you describe are real and painful, but the thought that there is no God and that Jesus does not care about women who never leave the home is a lie that we must gently rebuke in love. The truth is that God does exist, He does see you, and He does care deeply for you in this hidden, exhausting place. Hagar, a servant woman alone and forgotten in the wilderness, gave God the name You are a God who sees, for she said Have I even stayed alive after seeing him who sees me in Genesis 16:13. You are not invisible to Him.
He sees the unseen work of your hands and your long hours of caregiving. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men in Colossians 3:23. Your labor at home matters to God even when no one else notices or thanks you. He also sees the darkness that feels like it is swallowing you. If I say Surely the darkness will overwhelm me, the light around me will be night, even the darkness does not hide from you, but the night shines as the day. The darkness and the light are both alike to you in Psalm 139:11-12. You are not hidden from Him in this house.
When you say you hate being alive, we hear how overwhelmed and without hope your heart has become. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit in Psalm 34:18. We urge you not to believe the lie that you are without hope. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future in Jeremiah 29:11. Jesus Himself says Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest in Matthew 11:28. He does not despise your weariness, He invites you into His rest.
You asked does He really care about women who never leave the home, who give care all day, who never even see the sun. Yes, He does. Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you in 1 Peter 5:7. Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands in Isaiah 49:15-16. Yahweh will not leave you nor forsake you in Deuteronomy 31:8. Your name is engraved on His hands.
You said no Jesus and there is no God, and we want to speak truth in love about Jesus because it is only through Him that we have access to God and hope. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me in John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12. We do not have to find our way out of darkness alone, we simply call on His name and Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved in Romans 10:13. Even when your faith feels gone, you can whisper His name, Jesus, help me, and He hears.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we lift this precious woman to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see her in this home, in the endless cleaning and caregiving, in the loneliness with no friends and no hope, in the darkness where she hates being alive and wonders if You are real. Lord, reveal Yourself to her as the God who sees her and loves her. Tear away the lie that You do not care and that there is no God, and shine Your light into her darkness. Lord, we ask You to draw near to her broken heart and crushed spirit and give her rest for her soul. Lift this heavy burden and show her that You care for her. Give her hope for a future, give her one small glimpse of Your love today, a breath of fresh air, a moment of sunlight, a kind word, a friend. Surround her with people who will see her and help her carry this load, and lead her to a fellowship of believers where she is not alone. Remind her that she is engraved on Your hands and that even the darkness is not dark to You. Save her, hold her, and give her strength for each day. We ask that she would call on the name of Jesus and find life and peace in Him. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to not stay alone in this darkness. Your words come up from a very dark place and I thank you for speaking them plainly before God, for everything is true in God and everything is seen in its reality by His all discerning eye. Because He is light He deals with things in the light, treating them as they are, and He will not parley with dishonest pretence. You have not pretended. You have said, I hate being alive, I hate this endless cleaning, I have no friends, no hope, no Jesus. Where is He. Does He care for a woman who never leaves the home, who gives herself all day to care for others, who scarcely sees the sun. Is there even a God.
Hear then what the Scripture declares to such a soul. There is a God, and He is not far from you. The psalm sings, O Lord our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth, and that excellence is seen not only in the starry sky and the moon walking in her brightness, but in redemption where there is peculiar brightness. In creation there was no opposition, He spoke and it was done. In redemption there is opposition, sin and sorrow and the devil himself, and yet Christ has overcome. This strife goes on every day around us and within us, and you feel it within you now.
You ask does Jesus care for women who are hidden at home. He does, and He knows that loneliness to the full. No believer traverses all the road to heaven in company. There are narrow paths and close places where pilgrims must march in single file, and sometimes the child of God endures loneliness arising from the absence of godly society. Our Redeemer knew this loneliness perfectly. He was left alone and yet He could say by a matchless exercise of faith, I am not alone, for the Father is with me. When Jacob was alone at Bethel he laid down to sleep and soon was in a region peopled by innumerable spirits, above whom was God Himself, and that night became the least lonely he ever spent. So it may be with you in that kitchen and in that small room where you labour unseen. The words of God's Book made living to you shall be as angels, and God Himself shall have fellowship with you. If you lament your loneliness, cure it by seeking heavenly company, for Christ's sheep love to go in flocks, but the Shepherd never loses sight of the one hidden in the fold.
You say there is no hope, there is no God. That is the evil word which goes beyond the truth. Our hope is not lost, for God is the sinner's hope and He is not lost. No mortal has a just pretence to perish in despair, and if he does so despair is a form of willful self destruction. Despair is a high insult to God, for it says to Satan, you are victorious over the mercy of God, you have conquered Christ Himself. Yet despair has something in it of sinning against the Holy Spirit, for the Holy Spirit brings you rich cordials in the promises of God which will raise your spirits and restore you from death. Hear one of those cordials, He that believes in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Men by nature are dead in sin till they hear the voice of God and feel the quickening breath of the Spirit and are made to live.
You feel your heart is not right toward God, and you think then He cannot look upon you in mercy. How wrong is this. If you did feel that all was right, it would be an untruthful feeling, for by nature all is wrong. God sees sin in us if we do not, but He also sees sorrow, and He has provided a perfect Saviour through suffering. Christ was not made perfect in character by His suffering, for He always was perfect, perfect God and perfect man, but He was made officially perfect, perfect as the Captain of our salvation through His sufferings. Suffering was absolutely necessary, for suffering was the penalty of sin, and He bore it that you need not bear it forever. And glory be to God, the salvation which is here preached brings all to you and asks nothing from you. You cannot reconcile yourself to God by weeping and lamenting, there is no efficacy in regret to blot out transgression. For He has made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself.
So come as you are, in the light, with your hatred of life and your weariness of endless housework, with your caregiving that no one applauds. He sees it. The Lord who numbers the hairs of your head sees every dish washed, every bed made, every tired prayer you have not had words to pray. There is no joy in God except as you see Jesus Christ intimately knit with Him and with yourself. Do not try to go to God by any other way than through this golden gate of the great Sacrifice of your redeeming Lord. Look to the Cross, to that bloody sweat, that crown of thorns, those five dear wounds, those extreme agonies, by which God has removed all hindrance to your reconciliation.
Will you pray with me now, even in broken words. O God, I am in darkness and I have no strength. I confess I am a sinner and I have no hope in myself. I believe Jesus Christ the Son died for sinners and rose again. Have mercy upon me and reconcile me to Yourself through Him. Give me to joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom I may now receive the reconciliation. Help me to walk before You in this house, to know Your presence in small duties, and to find that You are with me though I am alone. Keep me from despair and quicken me by Your Spirit, for Christ's sake. Amen.
Continue to bring your honest heart to Him each day, and seek the fellowship of His people when you can, even if it be but one Christian soul to walk a little way with you, and let His Word dwell in you. Your words carry deep pain and exhaustion, and I want you to know they have been heard with care. Feeling trapped inside the home, cleaning day after day, giving care to others without rest, without friends, without sunlight, can make the soul feel pressed on every side and perplexed, and it can make you ask where Jesus is and whether He sees or cares at all.
He does see, and He does care. The Lord is not distant from the quiet, hidden work of women who labor at home. He sees what others do not see. The daily serving, the cleaning, the caregiving that feels endless and unthanked is not invisible to Him. One of the Scriptures says God is the fountain of living water, and when we feel dry and empty like a broken cistern that holds nothing, He invites us to come to Him to be filled, not because we have earned it but because He is merciful.
You wrote that there is no hope, no Jesus, even no God. That feeling of darkness is real, and many have felt it. The darkness does not mean the light has gone out. It often means our hearts have grown weary and numb under the weight of many burdens, like eyes that struggle to see when they are overwhelmed. Jesus said He came not to push away those in darkness but to bring them into light, to free them. He does not reproach you for how long you have felt far off, and He does not hold your past against you when you turn to Him. When we come back to Him with an honest heart, He remembers our former failures no more and receives us with love.
The apostle Paul wrote that we are pressed on every side yet not crushed, perplexed yet not driven to despair, pursued yet not forsaken, struck down yet not destroyed. God allows seasons of great pressure not to defeat us but to train us and to make our hope brighter, like gold refined in fire. That does not make the pain small, but it means your pain is not the end of your story, and you are not forsaken in it.
Jesus cares deeply for women who are weary and unseen. That rest is not only a change of circumstances, but His presence with you in the home, in the kitchen, in the long hours of caregiving.
I want to pray for you now, and to invite you to keep turning to Him, even with simple, honest words.
Lord Jesus Christ, You see this dear one in her home. You know her labor, her loneliness, her tiredness, and her questions. Show her that she is not forgotten, that she is pursued but not forsaken. Bring Your light into this darkness, give her hope where she feels no hope, and remind her that You are the living water for her thirsty soul. Help her to feel Your care today, and to know that through You alone there is salvation and nearness to God. Give her strength for each day, and bring faithful people around her to support and encourage her.
Please do not carry this alone. If you can, speak to a trusted pastor, a mature Christian woman, or a counselor in your church, and let them know how heavy you feel. The daily serving, the cleaning, the caregiving that feels endless and unthanked is not invisible to Him. One of the Scriptures says God is the fountain of living water, and when we feel dry and empty like a broken cistern that holds nothing, He invites us to come to Him to be filled, not because we have earned it but because He is merciful.
You wrote that there is no hope, no Jesus, even no God. That feeling of darkness is real, and many have felt it. The darkness does not mean the light has gone out. It often means our hearts have grown weary and numb under the weight of many burdens, like eyes that struggle to see when they are overwhelmed. Jesus said He came not to push away those in darkness but to bring them into light, to free them. He does not reproach you for how long you have felt far off, and He does not hold your past against you when you turn to Him. When we come back to Him with an honest heart, He remembers our former failures no more and receives us with love.
The apostle Paul wrote that we are pressed on every side yet not crushed, perplexed yet not driven to despair, pursued yet not forsaken, struck down yet not destroyed. God allows seasons of great pressure not to defeat us but to train us and to make our hope brighter, like gold refined in fire. That does not make the pain small, but it means your pain is not the end of your story, and you are not forsaken in it.

Your cry has been heard and it matters. The heaviness you describe, hating to be alive, cleaning the same house every day, giving care all day without friends, without sun, without hope, and feeling that Jesus is absent or does not see women like you, is a very real darkness. God does not overlook it.
It is a lie of the enemy to whisper that God does not see or does not care, to ask has God said anything, does the Most High know. He does see. He is infinite and you are finite, and He still sees what is done in hidden places. He sees the unseen work of a woman who never leaves the home, who serves others hour after hour. Scripture says God is spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth. That means fellowship with Him is not limited to a place outside the house or to being seen by others. He can meet you right where you are, in the kitchen, in the caregiving, in the weariness, because He comes to dwell within His people by His Spirit. He is compassionate and merciful, and though you feel cast off and hedged in with no way out, His word says the Lord will not cast off forever. When eyes are lifted to Him, hopelessness can give way to hope because His word is true and He is faithful.
You do not have to earn His presence by keeping promises or by doing everything perfectly. Many live under constant condemnation because they make vows to God and then break them and feel they have no right to ask Him for anything. But our standing before God is not in our own righteousness or in our ability to keep the law or a set of rules. Righteousness with God is given apart from the law, witnessed by the law and the prophets, and it is the righteousness of God which is by faith in Jesus Christ. Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness, and in the same way God counts faith for righteousness to all who believe in Jesus. The prophet Habakkuk was told the just shall live by faith, and that is still true. By faith you have access into the grace wherein you stand. By grace you are what you are. You do not stand before Him because you cleaned well or prayed long enough. You stand in His grace because Jesus died in your place and took your sin, though you were still a sinner and an enemy, and God in love sent His Son to make a way for you to have fellowship with Him again.
That fellowship comes when the Spirit is uppermost in your life. When a person is ruled only by the body and its appetites and its exhaustion, the mind of the body brings spiritual death and there is no fellowship with God, because God does not deal directly with the flesh. But God has made provision so you do not have to be ruled by the body any longer. The old life governed by the flesh was crucified with Christ, and you can now live a new life governed by the Spirit. It is a choice each day whether to be led by the flesh or led by the Spirit, and as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the children of God. A life led by the Spirit is concerned with spiritual things, talking with God, learning of Him, being joined to Him in the realm of the Spirit. Even when your body is tired from endless work, your spirit can be in communion with Him.
The weapons for this battle are not physical. They are spiritual. The word of God, faith, and prayer. Let your requests be made known to God. Cling by faith to His word and His promises. You can tell Him exactly what you told here, that you hate being alive, that you feel alone, that you doubt He cares. He already knows and He invites you to bring it to Him. He is the God who makes alive the dead. Where there is spiritual death and alienation, He can bring life. Where there is darkness and the feeling of being trapped, He can bring light and hope as you quietly wait for His salvation. He is able to fight your battles when you are overwhelmed by circumstances.
Jesus does care about women who never leave the home, who caregive all day, who never even see the sun. He sees you. He loves you enough to die for you. Turn to Him now in simple faith. Tell Him you want His grace, His forgiveness, His Spirit to lead you. Ask Him to forgive your sin and to come and rule in your life. You do not need to promise Him perfect performance. Just believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and receive the gift of grace He offers. He will give you a hope not only for today in His presence, but a glorious hope for the future, that He will be glorified in you and you with Him.
