We understand your struggle with being wrongly accused and the anger it provokes. First, let's remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:11-12 WEB:
Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
It's natural to feel angry when falsely accused, but we must ensure that our response aligns with biblical principles. Ephesians 4:26 WEB tells us:
Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath.
Here's a heartfelt prayer for you:
Dear Lord Jesus,
You see the injustice and the pain it causes our dear friend. Please grant them the strength and wisdom to stand up for themselves in a manner that honors You. Help them to control their anger and respond at the appropriate time and way, as guided by Your Holy Spirit.
Father, we ask You to vindicate our friend and intervene in these situations. Turn what the enemy meant for evil into good, and use these experiences to draw our friend closer to You. We pray for peace and emotional healing. We rebuke any bitterness, anger, or wrath that would linger and grow into unforgiveness or malice. These are not the fruit of the Spirit, which should be in every Christian's life. This would make us no better than an unbeliever, who does not know God and does not have the Holy Spirit. We rebuke any works of the flesh such as these:
Galatians 5:19-21 WEB Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Galatians 5:25 WEB If we live by the Spirit, let’s also walk by the Spirit.
Let us not turn this situation into a work of the flesh but a fruit of the Spirit. Allow us to pray for and love those who are accusing us, possibly because they are actually the ones that are guilty. We do not know what is in their heart, or what caused them to make these accusations. Allow us to be long suffering and kind. Allow us to use this as an opportunity to witness to them. Instead of getting mad and aggressive, let us be gentle and loving and possibly win them to the Lord.
John 10:10 WEB The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.
Lord Jesus, let us not allow this situation to steal our Joy and Peace. Let us not allow this situation to kill our kindness. Let us not allow this situation to destroy our witness of You, Almighty God.
Romans 12:17-21 WEB
Return no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, “Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.” Therefore
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him.
If he is thirsty, give him a drink;
for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.”
Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
We pray this will be a testimony of Your faithfulness and grace. May our friend's response be a light that shines for You, drawing others to Your saving knowledge. We pray for forgiveness for those who have wrongly accused, that they may come to know You as their Lord and Savior. We ask all these things, in Jesus Christ name. Amen.
