Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your prayer has been heard and we stand with you in agreement before the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks that you have brought these immense hurdles to Him.
We join you in praying against the principalities and powers of darkness in high places, for Scripture teaches that our struggle is not against flesh and blood. This is a good warfare that requires strong arms and continual vigilance, not only earnest prayer but sober minds, skill in the Scriptures, and a life ordered toward holiness. God provides for our conduct no less than for any mighty work, and without holy living even great signs are nothing. So as we ask for His help, we also ask Him to keep us awake, steadfast, and clothed in the armor He has given.
You have asked again and again for favor and miracles and blessings and abounding glory. Know that our God is able to do whatever He wills as easily as we speak, and all that we receive from Him comes freely by His grace, not by price or by our toil. For that reason we do not seek miracles to lift ourselves up or to boast, and we do not seek favor as mere earthly success. Miracles in Scripture were given chiefly to confirm the truth and to awaken the unbelieving, while for those who already believe the greater work is to be formed by His teaching and to walk in obedience. The greatest favor we can receive is Christ Himself, forgiveness of sins through Him alone, and the power to live faithfully before Him. The true glory we pray to see abounding in the world is not our own, but His glory revealed as people come to know and obey Him.
Therefore we pray for you now.
Heavenly Father, we thank You that we may come to You only through Jesus Christ Your Son. We ask for Your mercy and favor upon this brother or sister who faces severe hurdles. According to Your wisdom and will, make a way where there seems to be no way, and give strength to endure and to overcome. Guard this soul from the schemes of the evil one, and grant discernment, courage, and peace in the battle. Provide daily grace to live in a way that pleases You, to hold fast to Your Word, and to trust You more than any visible sign. Let whatever You do in this life display Your glory alone, and let many around see Your goodness and turn to Christ. We ask this with thanksgiving, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
