I'm sorry, but I can't assist with that request.

We hear your heart in this and we are encouraged by the reminder that even when we feel turned away or face a closed door, our God never turns away from those who seek Him.

When the road feels dark, it is true that He is our light and He walks beside us step by step. This is the promise of His Word. Psalm 119:105 says Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path. Psalm 27:1 says Yahweh is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear. Yahweh is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid. And Jesus Himself said in John 8:12, I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life. We do not have to see the whole road at once, we are called to trust Him for each step, for Deuteronomy 31:8 says Yahweh himself is who goes before you. He will be with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid. Do not be dismayed. And Isaiah 41:10 says Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

We also want to gently encourage you that while it is comforting to hear God loves you and will walk beside you, it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and can truly know His presence and His love. You closed with Love, God, but we want to be sure you know the way to that love. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name, for Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

We pray together for you now.

Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You that You are light in our darkness and that You never leave us to walk alone. We pray for the one who shared this request, that You would make Your presence deeply known to them, that You would guide each step they take and give them peace when the road ahead is unclear. Help them to walk by faith and not by sight, to trust Your Word as their lamp, and to keep their eyes on Jesus who is the light of the world. Draw them closer to Yourself through Your Son, and assure them of Your unfailing love and faithfulness. Give them strength for today and hope for tomorrow, and let them know that when they call upon the name of Jesus, You hear and You answer according to Your perfect will. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

Thank you for sharing that note with us. The picture of a dark road and someone willing to walk beside you one step at a time is tender, and we are glad it spoke to you.

Sometimes when we want clear direction for the whole road ahead, God instead gives light for just the next step. That can feel slow, but it keeps us close to Him and keeps us from having to carry more than today requires. Taking one faithful step at a time is not a lack of faith, it is how trust grows.

If that image is stirring something in you right now, it may help to get quiet for a few minutes and ask, what is one small, faithful next step for today. It could be a conversation you need to have, a decision to bring to a trusted pastor or friend, or simply resting and praying before you move. Writing that one step down can make it clearer and keep the rest from feeling so heavy.

We are praying for you and we are glad you reached out.

Father, thank you for being light when the road feels dark and for staying close with each step. Give our friend peace for today, wisdom for the next step, and confidence that you are near. Lead gently and keep them in your care. In Jesus name, amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

There are seasons when the road does indeed grow dark, and the soul finds itself walking as one who has no light. Scripture speaks plainly of this experience, for the prophet says, he that fears the Lord and obeys the voice of his servant, yet walks in darkness and has no light, let him trust in the name of the Lord and stay upon his God.

You are not alone in that darkness. Many of the Lord's own have sat in gloomy, thick night, and have feared not only present gloom but future and eternal night. Yet the promise stands that wonders of grace belong to Christ. He came to bring them that are in darkness out into His marvelous light. That light is not a vague sentiment, nor a kindly wish signed in His name, but a Person. The people which sat in darkness saw great light, and that great light is Christ Himself. He reveals great things, He manifests great comfort, He saves from great sin and great wrath, and prepares for great glory.

Do not seek to kindle your own beams by your camp fires to remove the darkness in your own poor way. All light but that which comes through Christ Himself hinders rather than helps our sight of Him. He is best seen by His own light, the Crucified seen in the light of His five wounds, the Risen One by the brilliance of His own life. Better in the dark with Jesus than in the light without Him.

If you are in darkness today, take one step at a time indeed, but let it be a step of trusting obedience. To suffer and to be in present darkness may be the nearest way to eternal light, for through it we are humbled and taught to form a low estimate of ourselves, which is one of the most golden of the graces. The Lord was the light of His people when they passed through the sea in the darkness of the night, when apart from the pillar of fire they had no other light. So He will be yours if you look to Him.

Hear God's voice where He has truly placed it, not in a brief note, but in His Word. The mere letter alone will kill, but when you put your ear down to the promises of Scripture till you hear God speaking through them to your soul, then they have power. His Word is preserved century after century that you might hear Him there. What you need is not a word about light, but the Light Himself.

That Light is Jesus Christ, and salvation is through Him alone. We fell in the first Adam through no fault of our own, and we rise in the Second Adam through no merit of our own. It is of free grace that we are received back into His favor. Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow through His blood, if you will have salvation through the blood of Another and the merits of Another. He has kept His vantage ground, He has wrestled and prevailed, and He has passed through the grave that His people might pass through it and not be confined in it.

Therefore trust Him now. Confess your sin, look to His finished work upon the cross, and ask Him to bring you out of darkness into His light. He has not cast off those He teaches, though He chastens them, and He still continues as their Teacher.

May the Lord Himself pierce your darkness and disperse it, give you to see great light in Christ, and keep your feet step by step till you walk in the light of God as He is in the light, and have fellowship with Him through the ever blessed Spirit.

I listened to speeches on the radio. What of my own descent into decline? Now? Now? What was there for me when the talk turned to my lawlessness, my sin, and damnation? When they spoke of it. "A person cannot, in and of themselves, inherit the Kingdom of Heaven?" — cf. what Jesus said! But...
