Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing so honestly about what you are carrying tonight. It is painful to feel anxious and restless, to feel unseen or not beautiful, and to be treated poorly by someone whose attention you hoped would bring comfort. God sees you in this distress and He invites you to bring every care to Him.
Scripture teaches that anxiety weighs heavily on the soul, like a burden that scourges us day after day, and that much of what the world tells us will make us feel valued and beautiful only adds to that anxiety rather than relieving it. True rest does not come from ornaments, approval, or the attention of another person, but from looking up to God and casting all your care upon Him, because He cares for you. He is the one who feeds and sustains you from youth, and when you remember His faithful care, you can be freed from the constant worry that keeps your mind stirring at night.
Your beauty and worth are not measured by how a young man treats you or by whether you feel wanted in a moment. You are made in the image of God and, if you are in Christ, you are fully loved, chosen, and cherished as His daughter. That love is steadfast when human treatment is inconsistent or unkind. When someone does not treat you well, it is not a reflection of your value, but it is a sign to pause and seek wisdom. God calls relationships between a man and a woman to reflect His faithfulness and purity, with respect, honor, and self control, and He calls sex and living together to belong only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Any relationship outside of that design will not bring the peace and security your heart longs for. It is wise to step back from a connection where you are not treated with kindness and respect, to set clear boundaries, and to seek counsel from a mature believing woman or pastor who can walk with you personally.
We will pray for you as you asked, not to ask God to bless a relationship that is not honoring to Him or to you, but to ask Him to bring you healing, clarity, and rest in Christ.
Let us pray together. Father in heaven, thank You that You see this dear one tonight and know every anxious thought. Lord Jesus, You alone are our Savior and our peace, and we ask You to forgive our sins and draw her close to Yourself. Pour out Your calm upon her troubled mind and quiet the thoughts that keep her from sleep. Help her to cast all her anxiety on You and to receive the peace that guards heart and mind in Christ. Remind her that she is fearfully and wonderfully made, loved and wanted by You, and that her identity is secure in You and not in the approval of others. Grant her wisdom regarding this young man, give her strength to seek what is pure and holy, and surround her with godly counsel and friendship. Give her deep and restful sleep tonight and the grace to rise in the morning refreshed to walk with You through the day. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope. Amen.
If anxiety continues to feel overwhelming, please reach out to a trusted pastor, counselor, or mature Christian woman in your local church for ongoing support, and if you ever feel unsafe, please seek help right away from someone you trust. You are not alone, and God is near to those who call upon Him.
