I'll process the prayer request title according to

Thank you for sharing this request and allowing us to pray with you for healing in your body in the name of Jesus.

We want you to know that God does care about your physical health. The gospels show Jesus having authority over the physical realm, healing sickness and infirmity wherever He went, whether it was a person with leprosy, the servant of a centurion, the mother of Peter, or the crowds that were brought to Him in the evening. Matthew connects that ministry of healing to what Isaiah prophesied, that He would bear our infirmities and sicknesses, and that prophecy is broad enough to include physical healing and not only the healing of sin. When Jesus broke bread and said this is my body broken for you, He was pointing to that same provision.

At the same time we want to encourage you with a balanced understanding from Scripture. The familiar words, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers, is not presented as a guarantee that every believer will always be well, but as a loving prayer and wish for a friend, much like we would say we hope a letter finds someone well. There is a real connection between the health of the soul and the health of the body, and attitudes and inner peace can affect the body, but we cannot equate spirituality with perfect physical health. Some of the most faithful followers of Jesus have walked through deep physical trials.

Scripture also shows that we should not presume God wills instant healing in every case. Paul prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh to be removed and the Lord had a different purpose in leaving it. Not every person is given the same gift of healing, and the New Testament makes clear that the body has many members with different gifts.

We do believe God still heals now and that He is able. Sometimes He heals instantly and at other times healing comes gradually. There is one account where Jesus laid His hands on a blind man and the man saw partially at first and then fully after a second touch. That reminds us that gradual healing is still healing, and even the natural processes of recovery that God has built into our bodies are divine, because He created those processes. We do not need a frenzy or show to seek Him, but simple, sincere trust.

God is also interested in the practical care of the body He has given you, including rest, cleanliness, and wise stewardship of your health, and we encourage you to continue to care for yourself well while you look to Him.

We do not see a lack of immediate healing as a lack of faith, and we do not want you to carry that burden. We simply come to the Father together asking for His mercy and power according to His wisdom and love.

Let us pray with you. Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this need to You. You know this part of the body that needs healing and You have power over all infirmity. We ask that You would touch and restore according to Your will, whether instantly or through a gradual process. Bring peace to the heart, strengthen faith, and let Your presence be felt. We trust Your goodness and Your purpose, and we ask for healing that would be a testimony of Your grace. Amen.

Please keep letting us know how you are doing so we can continue to pray with you and support you.
