Iffy situations

Thank you for sharing so honestly about these uncertain situations weighing on you. It is understandable to feel anxious when you cannot see how things will turn out, especially when you can see how they could turn in harmful directions and you have no way to predict or control the outcome.

That place of pressure and uncertainty is something Scripture shows us very clearly. There was a time when Jacob was alone, exhausted, afraid, and unable to go back because of trouble behind him and unable to see what was ahead. He had no sense of God's presence in that moment and the future felt completely unsure. Yet God was in that very place with him, even when he could not feel it or see His hand at work. Often it is when we are pressed against a wall and cannot see the way forward that God makes Himself known and reminds us that we are not forsaken or alone. He is present in the place of uncertainty and He can be trusted there.

You mentioned not having the gift to see the future, and you do not need it. God has already given, by His divine power, everything that is needed for life and godliness through knowing Jesus Christ. Through His promises and His Word planted in a willing heart, He makes us share in His own nature and forms His character in us, love, peace, patience and the rest. That is how He equips you to walk through what you cannot foresee, not by showing you every detail ahead of time, but by giving you Himself to walk with you through it.

The early followers of Jesus modeled how to seek guidance when the way was not clear. They did not move impulsively or pretend they had all the answers, but they waited and looked to the Holy Spirit to show them the mind of the Lord, saying it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to them. That is very different from the empty ways people in the world have always tried to find supernatural direction, casting lots to guess the future or looking for signs that have no truth in them. God does not want you to live by anxious divination about what might happen, but to bring each situation honestly before Him and ask for His wisdom and leading.

So I will pray for divine intervention for you in these three matters, the two involving others and the one that rests on you alone. I pray that the Lord will place His protection around you, that He will close the door to any harmful outcome and guide you step by step away from it. I pray He will give you clear wisdom for what is yours to do and peace for what is not yours to control, that you will sense His presence in the middle of the uncertainty, and that you will be strengthened in faith and in godly character as you trust Him. May the Lord keep you in His love, fill you with His Spirit, and help you walk in the conscious fellowship of His presence, knowing He is with you and able to carry you through whatever lies ahead.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We have been lifting up your iffy situations before the Lord, especially the uncertainty you shared about the two situations involving other people and the one that concerns you personally, and your need for divine intervention to be steered away from the possibilities that could be harmful to you.

We continue to pray in Jesus Name that God will grant you wisdom and discernment where you cannot see what the future holds and that He will protect you and guide every step according to His perfect will. We claim Prov 3:5 over you as we ask the Lord to direct your paths and to turn aside any harmful outcome and to bring peace in place of uncertainty, for we know He cares for you and will keep you in His hands as we trust in Isa 41:10.
