If being a Christian means I have to support ###, I am not interested in being a Christian

Beloved of All
He is (in my opinion) one of the least Christ-like people on the face of the earth. And yet the "Christians" elected him. I cannot understand it at all.

I hope the real Christians succeed in taking back their religion from the Christian nationalists.

We hear the pain and frustration in your words, and we understand the deep disappointment you feel when those who claim the name of Christ do not reflect His character. It is true that many who profess faith fall short of the love, humility, and righteousness that Jesus embodied. The apostle Paul warned us in Romans 2:24, *"For 'the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you,' just as it is written."* When leaders or believers act in ways that contradict the Gospel, it brings reproach upon the name of Christ, and that is grievous to us as well.

But let us gently remind you that Christianity is not defined by the failures of people—even those in positions of influence. It is defined by the perfect, sinless Son of God, who laid down His life for us while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8). Jesus Himself said in John 13:35, *"By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."* When His followers fail to love, to seek justice, or to walk in truth, it is a distortion of the faith—not the fulfillment of it.

We must also address the reality that no political leader, no matter how favored by some Christians, is the standard of Christlikeness. Our hope is not in princes or rulers (Psalm 146:3), but in the King of Kings. The early church thrived under persecution and oppression, yet they turned the world upside down through love and truth (Acts 17:6). If the church today has become entangled with worldly power, it is our duty to pray for repentance and reformation—not to abandon the faith altogether.

We rebuke the spirit of division and disillusionment that would seek to turn you away from Christ because of the sins of His followers. Jesus warned that there would be false prophets and wolves in sheep’s clothing (Matthew 7:15), but He also promised that the gates of hell would not prevail against His church (Matthew 16:18). The solution is not to walk away, but to cling more tightly to Him and to the true Gospel.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, grieving over the ways Your name has been misrepresented. We ask for forgiveness where Your people have failed to reflect Your love, Your justice, and Your holiness. Lord, we lift up this dear one who is struggling with disillusionment. We pray that You would reveal Yourself to them in a fresh and powerful way—not through the failures of men, but through the perfect love of Your Son, Jesus Christ.

Guard their heart from bitterness and cynicism, Father. Help them to see that Your church is not defined by its worst representatives, but by the redeeming work of Christ on the cross. Give them the strength to stand firm in the truth, even when others falter. If they have not yet fully surrendered to You, draw them near, Lord. Let them encounter Your grace in a way that overwhelms their doubts and heals their wounds.

We also pray for the church in this nation—that we would repent of any compromise with worldly power and return to our first love. Raise up bold, faithful believers who will stand for truth with humility and love. May we be a light in the darkness, not a stumbling block.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Friend, we encourage you not to judge Christ by the actions of those who claim His name but fall short. Instead, look to Jesus Himself—the One who wept over Jerusalem, who touched the lepers, who forgave the adulteress, and who laid down His life for the very ones who crucified Him. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). If you feel distant from Him, know that He is pursuing you still. Come to Him as you are, and let Him show you the truth of who He is—not as the world portrays Him, but as the Scriptures reveal Him.

And if you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to consider His words: *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"* (John 14:6). Salvation is found in no one else (Acts 4:12). Turn to Him today, and let Him wash away your doubts and disappointments with His unfailing love.

We hear your frustration, dear friend. It's easy to feel disheartened when those who claim to follow Christ don't reflect His love and compassion. It's like finding a beautiful diamond in the rough, only to have it tarnished by the dirt around it. But remember, the diamond's true beauty isn't diminished by the dirt; it's still a precious gem.

Just as we wouldn't judge a diamond by the dirt around it, we shouldn't judge Christ by the failures of His followers. Instead, look at Jesus Himself - His love, His mercy, His sacrifice. He's the same yesterday, today, and forever. He's the diamond in the rough, and His love for you is unchanged, even when those around Him fall short.

We're praying for you, that you'd encounter Jesus in a fresh, powerful way. That you'd see His love through the failures of men, and find healing for your wounds. We're also praying for the church, that we'd repent, return to our first love, and be a light in the darkness.

Keep your eyes on Jesus, friend. He's worth it all.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for sharing your heart with us and allowing us to stand in prayer alongside you during this time of confusion and frustration. It’s clear that your struggle is not just with the actions of others, but with the very tension between what you see in the world and what you believe Christ calls us to be. We have been lifting you up, asking the Lord to meet you in this place of disillusionment and to reveal His truth, His love, and His heart for justice and righteousness.

We pray that God would soften your heart even now, not to accept what contradicts His Word, but to see His people through His eyes—flawed, yet redeemed, and called to reflect Him more fully. We’ve asked Him to strengthen the faithful remnant, those who seek to honor Christ in word and deed, and to give you a renewed sense of hope in what it truly means to follow Him. If you’ve seen even a glimmer of His grace or clarity since you posted, we would love to hear how He is working in your life.

If the weight of this struggle still feels heavy, please know we are here to continue praying. You are not alone in this, and we stand with you, asking the Lord to draw near to you, to guide you, and to help you see His Church as He intends it to be—not as it has been distorted. May He bless you with wisdom, peace, and a deeper understanding of His unfailing love as you seek Him. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus.
