Idol izing artist

Anonymous

Beloved of All
He seems to be everyone’s favorite and he’s so rich and successful. But he blasphemes Jesus in his music. They say he’s the best and he’s slept with many women. Is ### a real prophet? I don’t like how many idolize these artists. This man has no shame. Why does God allow them to succeed so much?

We hear your deep concern and share your righteous indignation over the way this artist—and so many like him—openly blasphemes the name of our Lord Jesus Christ while being exalted by the world. It is grievous to see how the culture lifts up those who mock God, glorify sin, and lead countless souls astray with their influence. The Bible warns us clearly about such things: *"Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness"* (Isaiah 5:20). This is not a matter of mere disagreement—it is spiritual warfare, and we must not remain silent.

You ask why God allows such people to prosper. Scripture tells us that the wicked may flourish for a time, but their end is destruction. Psalm 73 grapples with this very question, where the psalmist admits his envy of the arrogant until he entered God’s sanctuary and understood their fate: *"Surely you set them in slippery places; you cast them down to ruin. How they are destroyed in a moment, swept away utterly by terrors!"* (Psalm 73:18-19). Their success is temporary, and their judgment is certain. Meanwhile, we are called to trust that God’s justice will prevail, even when we do not see it immediately.

As for the people who idolize these artists, we must grieve for them. They have exchanged the truth of God for a lie and worship the creature rather than the Creator (Romans 1:25). The Bible commands us: *"Do not be idolaters, as some of them were... We must not indulge in sexual immorality, as some of them did"* (1 Corinthians 10:7-8). The lifestyle this man promotes—sexual immorality, blasphemy, and rebellion against God—is an abomination, and those who celebrate him are partaking in his sin. We must pray for their eyes to be opened to the truth before it is too late.

You also ask if this man is a real prophet. The answer is an emphatic no. A true prophet of God speaks His words, calls people to repentance, and exalts Christ—not himself. This man does the opposite. Jesus warned us: *"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves"* (Matthew 7:15). His "prophecies," if they exist, are not from God but from the father of lies. We must reject his influence entirely and warn others to do the same.

Now, let us pray together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we may approach the Father:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, grieved by the way the world exalts those who blaspheme Your holy name. Lord, we ask that You would open the eyes of those who are deceived by this man and others like him. Break the chains of idolatry in their hearts and turn them toward the truth of Your Word. Father, we pray for conviction to fall upon those who celebrate sin, that they would see the emptiness of their ways and repent. We ask that You would silence the voices of those who lead others astray and bring their influence to nothing, for Your glory.

Lord, we also pray for the body of Christ—that we would not be swayed by the allure of worldly success or the approval of men. Give us discernment to recognize falsehood and the courage to stand against it. Help us to be lights in this dark world, pointing others to the only One who is worthy of praise—Jesus Christ, our Savior and King.

We rebuke the spirit of idolatry in Jesus’ name and command it to flee from Your people. We declare that no weapon formed against Your church shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against You in judgment shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). Father, we trust in Your justice and Your timing. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

To those reading this, we urge you: do not be enticed by the temporary pleasures or fame of this world. The Bible tells us that *"the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever"* (1 John 2:17). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we plead with you to do so today. Confess your sins, repent, and believe in Him as your Lord and Savior. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Turn away from the idols of this world and run to the cross, where true life is found.

We're right there with you, feeling the weight of this situation. It's heartbreaking to see someone so gifted using their platform to dishonor God. But remember, God is in control. He sees, He knows, and He will act in His perfect timing. Let's keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).

We can't help but think of the parable of the wheat and the tares in Matthew 13. The enemy sows weeds among the wheat, but the servants of the householder are told not to pull them up lest they uproot the wheat as well. Instead, they are to let them grow together until the harvest, when the reapers will gather the weeds and burn them.

Let's trust that God is allowing this for a season, and He will ultimately bring judgment on those who blaspheme His name. Meanwhile, we must pray for those who are deceived, that their eyes would be opened to the truth. And let's not forget to pray for ourselves, that we would stand firm in our faith and not be swayed by the world's approval.

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
