I want to quit Mormonism

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for me, I am a Mormon and I have some complicated entanglement with the church, please pray for me that the Lord Jesus Christ untangle me, lead me to a true Christian church. I already believe in God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit as it is revealed only in the Bible. I am spiritually out, but still there physically.

We hear your heart’s cry, and we stand with you in prayer before the throne of grace. You are not alone in this journey, and we rejoice that you have already placed your faith in the true God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, as revealed in Scripture alone. The name of Jesus Christ is the only name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is through Him that we have bold access to the Father (Ephesians 3:12). Your desire to leave Mormonism and seek a true Christian church is a work of the Holy Spirit, and we pray He continues to guide you into all truth (John 16:13).

The entanglements you speak of are real, and we do not underestimate the spiritual and emotional weight of breaking free from a system that has shaped your identity. The enemy would love to keep you bound in confusion, guilt, or fear, but we rebuke those lies in Jesus’ name. The Word declares, "If the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36). You are not leaving truth behind, you are stepping into it, as the Bible alone is God’s inspired, inerrant Word (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Mormonism’s additional scriptures and extra-biblical revelations cannot stand alongside the sufficiency of Christ and His Word.

We also lift up the relationships in your life that may be tied to the church. If you are married or courting someone within Mormonism, we pray for wisdom and discernment. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If your spouse or potential spouse is not aligned with biblical truth, we encourage you to seek counsel from mature believers who can help you navigate this with grace and conviction. Unequally yoked relationships (2 Corinthians 6:14) can bring immense spiritual strain, and we pray for God’s protection over your heart and future.

As you seek a true Christian church, look for a body of believers who:
- Preach Christ crucified and risen (1 Corinthians 1:23-24)
- Hold to the Bible as the sole authority for faith and practice
- Emphasize salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9)
- Love one another deeply (John 13:35) and make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20)

You may face opposition, misunderstanding, or even rejection from those you love. But remember, Jesus warned that following Him would cost us (Matthew 10:34-39). Yet He also promised, "Everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or farms for My name’s sake, will receive many times as much, and will inherit eternal life" (Matthew 19:29). The Lord sees your sacrifice and will not leave you comfortless.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister in Christ, who is seeking to walk in the light of Your truth. We thank You for drawing them to Yourself and for the work You have already begun in their heart. Lord Jesus, we ask that You untangle every lie, every fear, and every emotional or spiritual tie that binds them to Mormonism. Break the chains of deception, and lead them out of darkness into Your marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9). Holy Spirit, guide them to a church that preaches the pure Gospel, where they can grow in grace and truth.

Father, we pray for protection over their mind and heart. Guard them from discouragement, doubt, or the enemy’s schemes to pull them back. Surround them with godly believers who can encourage and disciple them. If there are relationships that need to be surrendered to You, give them wisdom and courage to walk in obedience, trusting You to provide for every need.

We declare over them the promise of Isaiah 43:18-19: "Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." Lord, do a new thing in their life! Open doors no one can shut, and close doors no one can open (Revelation 3:7-8). May they experience the fullness of joy and peace that comes from walking in Your truth.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. Amen.

You are stepping into a journey of greater freedom, deeper truth, and closer intimacy with Christ. The road may not always be easy, but it is worth it. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus (Hebrews 12:2), and remember that He who began a good work in you will complete it (Philippians 1:6). We are praying for you, and we encourage you to seek out biblical resources and trusted Christian counsel as you move forward. You are not abandoning faith, you are running toward the One who is Faithful and True.

We’re grateful you reached out, it takes real courage to name this tangle and ask for prayer. You’ve already taken the most important step: your spirit is anchored in the God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit as the Bible reveals them. Now the outward life is catching up to that inner truth, and that can feel disorienting, even lonely.

When Saul encountered Jesus on the road to Damascus, his whole world turned upside down. Everything he’d built his life on crumbled, and for a time he was physically blind, yet that disruption became the doorway to true sight and a new identity. Your situation is different, but you’re undergoing a similar kind of upheaval: you see clearly now, but you’re still sitting in the old structures, and the entanglements are real. That tension makes sense, and we don’t want to minimize it.

A practical step while you pray through the disentangling: begin quietly visiting a local church that teaches the Bible plainly and preaches Christ crucified, risen, and reigning. You don’t have to commit immediately; just show up, listen, and ask the Lord to confirm where you’re meant to belong. If you’re unsure where to start, a trusted Christian friend or an online directory of doctrinally sound congregations can help. Sitting under the preached Word and hearing the gospel in community will steady you and clarify your next steps.

We’re praying for you now.

Lord Jesus, You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. We ask You to gently untangle our friend from every tie that binds them to a false system. Give patience for the complicated details, wisdom for each conversation, and courage when fear or pressure rises. Lead them to a church family where Your Word is faithfully taught and where they can grow in grace. Surround them with believers who will walk alongside. Keep their faith anchored in You alone. In Your strong name, Amen.

The plea of a soul longing to forsake error and cling to Christ is a music that heaven delights to hear. You have already testified that you believe in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit as revealed only in the Bible, this is the very foundation of the true faith, and no man can lay another. Yet while you remain entangled in a system that adds to His Word, you are bound with cords that must be cut. The question that must burn its way into your conscience is, "Is it true?" Is the ground you stand upon in that church true to Scripture, true to the finished work of Christ? A man may be spiritually awakened whilst still in the prison, but he longs for the open air; so your spirit is already departed from the errors of Mormonism, and now the body must follow. The Lord who has given you the will to come out will surely grant the power.

Do not imagine that your situation is beyond the reach of prayer. True prayer has a palpable influence over the entire universe, and your cry for deliverance is a force mightier than the chains you feel. Offer the sacrifice of thanksgiving to God, and then call upon Him in the day of trouble; this is the true worship He has ordained. Weep over the entanglements, confess every participation in what is false, and then set your face toward the light. The Lord Jesus Christ knows full well how to untangle the most knotted life; He led His disciples out as far as Bethany, and He will lead you out. His Spirit is the grand agency, and not by might nor by power shall it be done, but by His Spirit. Anxious soul, is it your heart’s desire to honor God and His people? Then despise not the day of small things: find a true church where the Gospel is preached, where the ordinances are kept as they were delivered, and where the unity of the Spirit is held in the bond of peace, not a place that arrogates to itself the title of the one true church, but a humble company of believers who cleave to Christ alone. The difference between the church and the world must be clear; and if a church adds to the prophets or to the apostles, it has blurred that line terribly.

I will pray that the Lord shall make a way in the wilderness, that every legal tie and carnal fear shall be dissolved, and that you shall be planted in a family where the truth is loved. And do you likewise pray: ask the Lord to build the walls of His Jerusalem, and in proportion as you think less of yourself you will think more of the work of God. The true lineage is not by natural descent or institutional claim, but by hearing the Word of God and keeping it. Fear not the reproach of men, nor the pain of separation, for there is a separation coming that is eternal, and to be severed from falsehood now is to be gathered with Christ. I charge you, do not delay. Put your hand into the hand of the Great Shepherd, and let Him guide you into the green pastures of His truth, for His name’s sake.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have done well to flee in spirit from that pernicious heresy. The Lord has enlightened your heart to see that the Godhead is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, revealed in the Holy Scriptures alone, not in the fables and pretended revelations of men. This is the faith once delivered to the saints, and beyond it we must not be curious, lest we provoke God. What they call another testament is a tree that bears bad fruit; you have tasted its poison and now hunger for the true bread.

Now, concerning your entanglement, do not be in haste to be delivered. God often leads us through affliction to chasten and strengthen us. Those three holy youths in Babylon entered the furnace not expecting deliverance, but committed themselves to God, saying, "If not, we will not serve thy gods." So too, prepare your mind for all endurance. Be patient; He will untangle the cords at the right time. In the meanwhile, let your life match your faith as far as you are able without denying Christ. But do not think that merely attending a building makes one a Christian. The true Church is where the word is taught and the character formed, where sinners are pricked in heart and bring forth fruits worthy of repentance.

Seek out a church that holds fast to the apostolic teaching, where you may sit among learners and teachers and be made better, not simply go through a routine. For many remain in the assemblies for years and return home no better, even worse, because they do not gather fruit for themselves. You have already begun to gather good fruit by believing rightly. Nourish it with prayer, with the Scriptures, and with fellowship in a faithful congregation. Then, when you are delivered outwardly from that body, you will find yourself not a stranger, but a lamb brought into the fold of Christ. Stand firm, and the God of all peace will grant you release and lead you into His true Church, to His glory. Amen.
