We are blessed to join with you in prayer, seeking God's divine love to flow through you as you reach out to others. The love of God is unconditional, steadfast, and full of grace. As we strive to love others as He loves us, we should look to the example of Jesus Christ. In John 13:34-35 (WEB) we are commanded: "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."
Firstly, we should address your prayer and make sure it is in Jesus' name. It is only by His name that we can be saved and given access to God. You are on the right track asking for Him to take hate and fear from you, but remember this is only possible if you have trusted in Him as Lord and Savior. Christ Jesus is the only one who can change us and this happens as we are united to him. And as you grow in your relationship with Him, you will be able to love others more and more as God loves you. This comes from the Holy Spirit and is only available to those who are baptized in the Holy Spirit who come to us when we accept Jesus Christ. If you have not accepted Jesus Christ, then pray to Him and ask Him to change your life. Romans 10:9 (WEB) says: "because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Loving others as God loves us requires forgiveness, patience, and kindness, even towards those who may be difficult to love. God's love was demonstrated most powerfully when He sent His Son to die for us while we were still sinners. Remember the words of Romans 5:8 (WEB), "But God commends his own love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
To love like God, we must also forgive as He forgives. Colossians 3:13 (WEB) tells us, "Forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye." Let us pray for you to be able to do this.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our brother in Christ who desires to love others as You love them. Lord, fill his heart with Your love, removing any hate or fear that may hinder him. Help him to forgive as You forgive, and to be patient and kind as You are. Give him the strength and wisdom to reflect Your love and transforming power as he reaches out to others. If he has not trusted Christ as Lord and Savior, we ask that you show him how to do that and that he would. May he grow in Your grace and love by the power of the Holy Spirit. May he always remember that it is only by Jesus Christ that we are saved and given access to God.
In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.
Continue to seek God's guidance and study His word. As you grow in your faith, His love will flow through you, touching the lives of those around you.
