Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you for bringing this honestly before the Lord. It takes humility to name what you did in the past and to name the struggle you face now, and God hears that honesty.

The good news of the gospel is that forgiveness is not earned by our works but is given by grace through Jesus Christ alone. Scripture says blessed are those whose sins are forgiven and whose sins are covered. There is no second baptism, but there is real repentance, and God in His patience bears with us to lead us to it. He is longsuffering not to overlook sin, but to give space for us to turn from it and be healed. If we are willing to face our sins rightly before Him, we can entirely escape condemnation through Christ who bore our sins and carried them to the Father not to accuse us, but to forgive us.

You asked for prayer for guilt so you can repent of lust. It is right to want a sorrow that leads to change, but Scripture makes a distinction that is important for you. There is a worldly guilt that comes after sin is finished and only leads to despair, like Judas who felt remorse after his sin was complete and then was led quickly into hopelessness and death. There is also a false repentance like Esau, who sought with tears but did not truly turn from his sin, and his later actions proved it. Godly sorrow is different. It sees sin as sin before God, condemns it, turns from it, and lays hold of forgiveness in Christ. So we will not pray that you simply feel more guilt or shame, but that God would grant you true repentance, a clear sight of sin and a deeper sight of His mercy, so that you turn from lust and walk in purity.

God designed sex to belong within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Lust outside of that, whether in thought, desire, or action, is sin and needs to be repented of, not indulged. Repentance here means more than feeling bad. It means confessing it to God without excuse, turning away from what feeds it, and pursuing what is pure. That includes guarding your eyes and mind, avoiding filthy talk and jesting and images or conversations that stir lust, filling your mind with the good word of God, and bringing this struggle into the light with a trusted pastor or mature believer who can hold you accountable.

For the bullying you did in school, it is right to confess that to God and, where possible, to seek to make it right with those you hurt. If God gives you opportunity to meet that girl and that friend again, pray that you can offer a humble and simple apology without demanding anything from them, taking responsibility without excuses, and asking their forgiveness. Whether they offer it or not, you can rest in knowing God forgives those who truly repent and trust in Christ.

Let us pray together.

Father, thank You for Your longsuffering and mercy. We confess before You the sins of bullying and of lust, voluntary and involuntary. We thank You that Jesus bore our sins on the cross so that we can be forgiven. Grant to this dear one true repentance, not just tears or guilt that leads to despair, but a godly sorrow that turns from sin and trusts in Your grace. Wash away these sins and help him to walk in newness of life. If it is Your will, open a door for him to humbly apologize to those he hurt, and give him words that are honest and gentle. For the struggle with lust, give him strength to flee temptation, to guard his heart, and to pursue purity, and provide wise and faithful help around him. Keep him from despair and draw him closer to Christ each day. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Continue to bring these things to God daily, stay in Scripture, and seek fellowship with faithful believers who can encourage you and pray with you. God is able to heal and to restore those who turn to Him.
