Good evening man of God. I am confused and afraid to take the wrong decision I have been transferred from my work place to another location and the distance is so far, the transportation is too costly. I plan to take a loan from the bank so I and my family can relocate near my work place however the bank is taken so much time to give me the loan. An ### in my company asked me if I can take a loan from the company for me is a good idea because the loan comes with no interest but some the person occupying the post of ### told me to be careful better still not to take the loan. So am confused I don’t know the right decision to take and there’s no time because September is fast approaching school will start and we don’t yet know our child faith

We hear your cry for divine direction and understand the weight of the decision before you. The confusion and fear you feel are real, but we stand with you in seeking God’s perfect will in this matter. The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." This is not just a financial decision, it is a spiritual one, and we must seek God’s wisdom above all else.

First, we must address the foundation of your faith. You have not mentioned the name of Jesus Christ in your request, and it is vital to remember that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life to Jesus, for He alone is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). Without Him, we cannot truly discern God’s will or receive His peace.

Now, let us rebuke the spirit of fear that is trying to grip your heart. 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." Fear is not from God, and it will only cloud your judgment. Instead, we must stand on God’s promises and trust that He will provide for you and your family. The enemy wants you to make a hasty decision out of fear, but we must resist him and stand firm in faith (James 4:7).

We also want to address the issue of debt. While loans are not inherently sinful, Scripture warns us about the dangers of debt and the burden it can place on our lives. Proverbs 22:7 says, "The rich rules over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender." Taking on debt should never be done lightly, and we must carefully consider whether this is the path God is calling you to take. Have you sought God’s wisdom through prayer and fasting? Have you asked Him to open doors of provision that do not involve debt? We encourage you to wait on the Lord and trust that He will make a way where there seems to be no way (Isaiah 43:19).

Regarding the offer of a loan from your company, we must be cautious. While the terms may seem favorable, we must ask why this person is offering you this loan. Is there an expectation of something in return? Is there a hidden agenda? Proverbs 22:3 warns, "A prudent man sees danger and hides himself, but the simple pass on and suffer for it." We are not saying that this offer is necessarily wrong, but we must be wise and discerning. Seek God’s counsel and ask Him to reveal any hidden motives or dangers.

We also want to encourage you to seek godly counsel from others in your life. Proverbs 11:14 says, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." Have you spoken with your pastor or a trusted spiritual mentor about this decision? Have you sought the wisdom of other believers who can pray with you and offer guidance? We must not make major decisions in isolation, but rather, we must surround ourselves with godly wisdom and support.

As for the timing of your decision, we understand that the start of the school year is fast approaching, and this adds pressure to your situation. However, we must not allow the urgency of the world to dictate our steps. Psalm 27:14 reminds us, "Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh." God’s timing is perfect, and He will not leave you or your family without provision. We encourage you to wait on Him and trust that He will make a way for your child’s education and your family’s needs.

Let us now come before the Lord in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your divine direction for our brother in this time of confusion and fear. Lord, we ask that You would calm his heart and replace his fear with Your perfect peace. We declare that You are his provider, his protector, and his guide. Father, we ask that You would make Your will clear to him regarding this decision. If taking on debt is not Your plan for him, we ask that You would close that door and provide another way. If this loan is part of Your plan, we ask that You would confirm it through Your Word, through prayer, and through godly counsel.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of fear that is trying to grip his heart. We declare that he is not a slave to fear but a child of God, filled with power, love, and self-control. We ask that You would give him wisdom and discernment as he considers the offer from his company. Reveal any hidden motives or dangers, and give him the courage to make the right decision, even if it is not the easiest one.

Father, we also lift up his family to You. We ask that You would provide for their needs, including their child’s education. Give them patience as they wait on You, and help them to trust in Your perfect timing. Lord, we ask that You would surround them with godly counsel and support, and that You would use this situation to draw them closer to You.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved. We trust in Your promises, Lord, and we declare that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in our brother’s life. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

In closing, we want to encourage you to stand firm in your faith and trust that God is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). Do not be afraid to wait on the Lord, even if it means enduring temporary hardship. His ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and keep walking in obedience to His Word. He will not fail you.

Sit down with your spouse and draw a simple list: for each option (bank loan, company loan, staying put for now), write out what it would actually mean for your family. What would the monthly payments look like? How would it affect your child's school situation and your daily travel costs? Are there hidden strings attached to the company loan that the person in that position might be aware of? Naming these things can turn a fog of fear into something you can look at together.

From what you've shared, your deepest concern is your family's stability and your child's education. Keeping that in the center can help you weigh the alternatives not just by what feels urgent, but by what aligns with your long-term goals. It might also be wise to gently ask the colleague who warned you for more specifics, not to gossip, but to understand what risk you might be taking. You don't need to decide alone; seek out one or two people you trust who can help you think clearly without pushing their own agenda.

Lord, you see this father's heart and the worry he carries. Grant him a calm mind and discernment to sort through the confusing advice. Protect his family from decisions made out of fear, and open a clear path forward, whether through a loan, a different solution, or unexpected provision. Quiet the noise so he can hear your gentle direction. In Jesus' name, amen.

The confusion you feel is not a sign that no path exists, but that you must cease from your own frantic planning so that a Divine path may be made plain. In such a dilemma, the first duty is not to rush toward a solution, but to stand still and see the salvation of God. When the sea blocks the way and the chariots of Pharaoh press behind, it is the stillness of faith that honors the Lord, a stillness that confesses, "I am so utterly broken by the strength of this tremendous current that if it is stemmed, it must be Divine energy that stems it." Your own wisdom has reached its end; now you are forced to seek a wisdom not your own. This is well, for now all the glory will be to God.

Do not be a spongy soul, squeezable by every hand that grips you. One counselor urges the company loan because it bears no interest; another warns you to be careful, even to refuse it. Such conflicting voices only prove that you need a Teacher who cannot err. You must have decision, but a decision born not of fear or convenience, it must come "by faith." Faith in Jehovah, who orders every providence, and who is not perplexed by the slowness of banks or the swift approach of September. The present trial is a method of Divine instruction, like the eagle stirring its nest to teach the young to fly. If you could read the whole of it in the light of eternity, you would bless the hand that now tears away your comforts. He puts you to school with Himself, and the lesson is this: "Teach me to do Your will; for You are my God."

As for the loan itself, examine the source of your urgency. Is it the fear of man, the dread of inconvenience, or the well-meant pressure of family connections? Some go the way the current goes, but the child of God must know how to stand and say, "No," when a path would compromise a clear conscience or entangle you in obligations that hinder your soul's freedom. Yet I am not your conscience in this matter. I point you instead to the throne of grace. Plead the promise that the Divine Presence dissolves difficulties, for the Church and for the individual believer alike. If the Lord means for you to relocate, He can make the provision without your weaving a snare of debt that may grieve you later. If He means for you to wait, He can supply daily grace for the long journey and the heavy cost, even as He provided manna in the wilderness.

Cast this care entirely upon Him. You have a far weightier matter pressed upon your heart, the spiritual state of your child as the school year looms. Do not let that eternal concern be crowded out by fretting over transportation and loans. Seek first the kingdom of God in your household, and all these other things shall be added as He sees fit. The God who delivered our souls from death, who sent Abigail in the moment of provocation, who hung up Haman on his own gallows, He interposes still. Wait upon Him. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.

The confusion you feel is the soul’s distress when it demands an account from God of what He doeth. You see the transfer, the expense, the closing of time, and your child’s uncertainty, and you rush to secure a solution by any means. Yet this is not to glorify God, but to scrutinize His ordering as though He needed your frantic schemes to bring about good.

Consider the two loans before you. The one from the bank delays; this is a trial of patience. The one from the company offers speed and no interest, but a voice of experience bid you be careful. Do not despise that warning. When Pilate set the title over the Cross, he would not be turned aside by those who sought to twist the truth. So too, when a sober counselor tells you to beware, do not let urgency shout down that quiet word. An interest-free loan that comes with hidden dangers is no gift at all. You ask for divine direction, yet God has already sent you direction through the caution of that person occupying the post. Why do you hesitate to heed it?

You say you fear taking the wrong decision, but I ask you what you fear losing. Do you tremble for the body’s comfort, the nearness of your work, the schooling of your child, while giving little thought to the soul’s peril in grasping at what men warn you to avoid? We turn all things upside down when we are overcome with softness. You would rush into a snare to secure a house, yet neglect to secure your heart’s peace by trusting God’s provision.

Remember how God weaves the lives of the righteous from both hardship and refreshment. Joseph was cast into agony when he saw the Virgin with child, yet the angel came to remove his fear. The infant Christ had to fly from Herod’s rage into Egypt, a far more perilous relocation than yours, and yet God’s purpose stood firm. Your transfer and this season of tight means are not signs that He has abandoned you. They are the very material from which He will bring forth deliverance, if you will wait and not force a door that should remain shut.

The bank’s slowness may be a mercy, not a hindrance. The company loan may be a trap dressed as a convenience. Lay both before the Lord and do nothing until you can proceed without that inward confusion which is the mark of a conscience unsettled. As for your child, you fret over the school term, but what is more needful: a smooth beginning of lessons, or a father who walks uprightly and teaches by his actions that God is to be trusted? If He be without beginning and without end, His care for your household is not bounded by September.

Turn from the desperate weighing of schemes. Make an offering of thanksgiving for the transfer itself, for the counsel you received, for the nearness of your family. Then act not out of panic but out of a fully persuaded mind, content to be where God has placed you, even if the distance must be borne a little longer. Yield to Him in this, and you will glorify Him.

The weight of your decision feels overwhelming right now, and the confusion you describe is something many of us know deeply. You are standing at a fork in the road, with well-meaning voices offering different directions, and the clock is ticking loudly. It is precisely in these moments that the profound gift God has given us, the capacity for free choice, feels both precious and heavy. He did not make us to be robots, simply executing predetermined commands. He gave us the dignity of choice because real love, real trust, and real obedience must be chosen. Yet, that power of choice is only meaningful because there is something to choose, and often, the options before us are deeply complex.

Your fear of making a wrong decision is real. We have each experienced that sting, looking back and saying, “If I had only known then what I know now.” We act on limited facts, and our vision is so short. This is why the foundation for any decision must be rooted not in our own ability to forecast the future, but in a reverential fear of the Lord. This is not a fear that God is waiting to hurt you if you misstep. That is a childhood terror that misunderstands His heart. The true fear of the Lord is a loving awe, a dread of hurting the One who loves you so completely. It is the beginning of real knowledge. When you choose to fear Him, you are choosing to hate what He hates and to love what He loves. That choice simplifies what the world makes confusing. It silences the peer pressure and corporate voices that say, “Everybody’s doing it,” or “This is the only way,” and instead asks a single, clarifying question: “What honors Him?”

Your confidence, even in this turmoil, is not to be found in the swift approval of a bank or the differing advice of colleagues. The Lord himself is to be your confidence. He promises to keep your foot from being taken. Human solutions, like those little desert streams, can often dry up when the heat of pressure arrives. But committing your cause completely to God is your place of deep rest. When the turmoil surrounds you, that is the time to pour out your desperation to Him, as Job did, and then to trust. Job’s constant fear demonstrated a lack of faith that invited the very thing he dreaded. Do not let the fear of a wrong step become the controlling force. Instead, let your reverence for God be the source of your stability. You are not facing a divine riddle meant to condemn you. Jesus is in the business of saving, not condemning. The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin, but the heavy, crushing cloud of confusion and condemnation is not from Him.

So how do you apply this to your pressing deadline? You must make your choice from a place of seeking His wisdom with a clean heart. Perfect holiness is being completed in this very fear of God. That means you can ask Him to cleanse any motive of greed or panic from your thinking, and then consider the paths before you. Whatever you decide, you can commit it to Him, trusting that He already knows the choice you will make and that He honors the integrity of a heart that wants to please Him. He respects your choice, and He is big enough to guide your steps even when your knowledge is limited. In the split-second decisions of life, and in the long, drawn-out ones, the tragedy comes from a decision made apart from the fear of the Lord. Choose not to grip the pew of your own understanding in stubbornness but to step forward in the freedom and responsibility God has given you, trusting that His love casts out the fear of a wrong outcome. Your rest is not in the perfect decision, but in the perfect God to whom you have committed your cause.
