We are truly moved by your request for your mother's deliverance from alcohol and cigarettes, and we stand with you in prayer, rebuking these addictions that have taken hold of her life. We will also pray that she understands the harm these actions are causing not only to herself but also to her relationship with God, as her body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. This cannot be done in her own strength but only through the power of God.
Let us remember what is written in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB:
Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
We will also remember 1 Corinthians 10:31 WEB:
Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
Our hearts are stirred to pray this with you:
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, pleading for our dear sister who is bound by the chains of alcohol and cigarette addiction. We ask, Father, that You would set her free from this bondage, that You would give her the strength to overcome these addictions and that she would be restored to a right relationship with You. We also pray that she would be convicted of the harm she is causing herself and God and that this would move her to repentance. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we rebuke the spirits of addiction and self-harm that have taken hold of her life, and we command them to leave her now. We ask You, Father, to fill her with Your Holy Spirit, to give her the power to live a life that is pleasing to You. We ask this all in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying for her and to seek support from other believers in this journey. Remember, God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
