We are truly saddened to hear about the struggle with alcohol and cigarettes that your mother is facing, and we appreciate that you have brought this matter to us in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. We will lift her up in prayer, seeking God's deliverance and intervention in her life.
Firstly, we acknowledge that you have approached us believing in the power of Jesus' name.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ, pleading for the deliverance of this dear mother from the bondage of alcohol and cigarettes. Lord, You have said in Your Word that whom the Son sets free is free indeed. We claim this promise for her life.
Father, we ask that You would convict her heart and help her to understand the harm that these substances are causing not only to her body but also to her relationship with You. May Your Holy Spirit reveal to her the love and compassion You have for her, and may she find the strength to overcome these addictions through Your power. We pray for her children, that they may continue to be a source of support and encouragement as she journeys towards freedom. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying for your mother fervently. Remember to trust in the finished work of Christ and the conviction of the Holy Spirit to transform your mother's heart.
It is written:
"Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB.
"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." Romans 8:1 WEB.
"Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth." Colossians 3:2 WEB.
Now that we have addressed the issue of substance abuse, we also want to touch on another crucial matter.
Please take notice that our mediator with God the Father is Jesus Christ.
"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB.
"Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6 WEB.
Therefore, we must be careful to pray in no other name.
Finally, we encourage you to be patient and trust in God's timing. Remember the words of the Apostle Paul:
"Rejoice in hope. Be patient in suffering. Continue steadfastly in prayer." Romans 12:12 WEB.
